Quality control sues 12 industries, restaurants for sub-standard services



BIRATNAGAR: The Regional Food Technology and Quality Control Office, Biratnagar has stated that five out of the 261 samples of various food items that it collected in the last three months for lab test failed to meet the required standard.

The office had collected 94 food samples in Morang, 35 in Sunsari, 28 in Jhapa, 27 in Saptari, 15 in Siraha, 25 in Dhankuta, 12 in Ilam and 25 in Udayapur. Samples of gram flour, maize flour, toffee, fruit juice and cooking oil failed the tests, the office stated.

The office had inspected 51 hotels and 50 industries. Among them, it filed cases against 12 hotels and industries for failing to meet the required standards. RSS
