“MAHANTHA THAKUR READY FOR SPEAKER’S POST’

KATHMANDU, June 11: Rastriya Janata Party Nepal General Secretary Keshav Jha has said that his party will join the government within a week.

“We are formal and informal holding discussions about the possibilities of joining government. But, we are yet to reach an official deal in this regard,” said Jha at an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Monday.

“The government has already made a written commitment on amending constitution. As soon as the government makes arrangement for the oath taking of our party lawmaker Resham Lal Chaudhary, we will participate in the Oli government,” Jha added.

“Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli and other ministers are making positive efforts to bring RJPN onboard the government. It is mandatory that all the laws should be formed within the three years of promulgation of constitution. Therefore, we want that the constitution be amended before coming October,” he added.

Leader Jha also reiterated that Province 2 government will not see any power reshuffle. “People have given mandate to Federal Socialist Forum Nepal and RJPN to form government in province 2. The government will not change due to RJPN,” he added.

He also said that RJPN presidium committee coordinator Mahantha Thakur will become ready for the position of Speaker if he is offered the post.
