KATHMANDU, June 29 : A father and son died in a road accident that took place at Kalauni in ward no. 8 of Saina Maina municipality this afternoon. Tek Bahadur Pariyar, 50, and his 30-year-old-son Santosh of Bankatta in ward no. 1 of the municipality died in the incident.

Severely injured in the accident, both died during treatment at the Lumbini state hospital, according to State Traffic Police Office, Butwal spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Dilli Narayan Pandey. Santosh was a police constable, deputed at the District Police Office in Kapilvastu.
The accident took place as the motorcycle (Lu. 52 Pa. 6229) that the father son duo was travelling on towards the west from Butwal hit a car (Lu. 2 Cha. 8529) coming from the opposite direction, police said.RSS

KATHMANDU, June 23: A senior citizen has died in a road accident occurred here on Monday evening. An Indian gas bullet hit the 73-yer-old pedestrian at Sunachari of Makwanpur.

The Indian gas bullet was heading to Chitwan via Hetauda, the police said, adding that septuagenarian Jas Bahadur Ghising died on the spot. He is a resident of Sunachari from Manahari-6 in the district.

Police have taken under control 56-year-old driver Bijay Mishra from Motihari, India, according to the District Police Makwapur.

The District Police Office, Chitwan confirmed the death of Ram Mahato, 27, of Kalika municipality-4 following the accident occurred in the wee hours today. KATHMANDU, Jan 28: At least three people have been killed and nine were injured when three trucks collided with each other in Rohini Rural Municipality in Rupandhi on Tuesday.

According to the State Traffic Police, a truck Lu 1 Kha 6745, which was en route to Parasi from Bhairahawa collided with other trucks Na 2 Kha 8481 and Na 5 Kha 7856, both heading toward Bhairahawa from Parasi collided with each other at Sipagadh killing three people on board.

The deceased have been identified as Lalu Kurmi, 35, and Mobikan Kurmi, 30, of Palhinanda Rural Municipality-4 of Nawalparasi and Purna Bahadur Bhujel, 36, of Chatara of Sunsari.

Of the nine injured, Dube Harijan, 47, of Palhinanda Rural municipality-4 of Nawalparasi and Mohan Rai, 27, of Satamata of Sindhuli, who were critically injured, are receiving treatment at Bhairahawa-based Bhim Hospital, said police.

DEATH TOLL REACHES 15

SINDHUPALCHOWK, Dec 15: The identity of six people, who died in a passenger bus accident in Sunkoshi rural municipality -5 of Sindhupalchowk district today morning, has been ascertained, according to the police.

They have been identified as Suk Bahadur Tamang, 28, of Jugal rural municipality, Sindhupalchowk; Sabina Tamang, 7, Junumaya Tamang, 36, and Manju Tamang of Dolakha Bhimerswor municipality; and Mahesh Tamang, 29, and Laxmi Shrestha of Umakunda rural municipality, Ramechhap.

The identity of eight other victims is yet to be ascertained.

The accident took place when the passenger bus Ba 4 Kha 4468, returning from Kuri, Kalinchowk to Bhaktapur, lost control and fell some 100 meters down the road at Six Kilo along the Khadichaur-Jiri road section today morning, according to Sunkoshi rural municipality-6 ward Chair Ram Kumar Thapa.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the accident has climbed to 15. Of them, 13 had died on the spot.

19 people were injured in the accident. They are receiving treatment in various hospitals in Sindhupalchowk, Dhulikhel and Kathmandu.

According to Sindhupalchowk District Police Officer Information Officer Inspector Ganesh Khanal, four to five injured are still in critical condition.

Survivor Dipak Tamang said the accident might have taken place due to the brake failure as “the bus was not overloaded”.

The ill-fated bus used to operate on the Chamasingh area of Bhaktapur.

According to the police, the driver of the bus, who fled the incident site, is still at large.

SINDHUPALCHOWK, Dec 15: The death toll from the Sindhupalchowk bus accident has reached 14, while more than 18 passengers have been injured and undergoing treatment of different hospitals in Kathmandu and Sindhupalchwok.

The accident occurred when a passenger bus Ba 4 Kha 4468 en route to Bhaktapur from Kalinchowk skidded off the road and fell some 100 meters down the road in Panch Kilo of Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-4 along the Khadichour-Jiri road section at around 8:30 am today morning.

Two injured have been referred to Kathmandu while others are undergoing treatment at the Sadabahar Hospital in Khadichaur, said Nawaraj Neupane, Inspector at Area Police Office, Bahrabise.

Nepali Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police personnel and the locals are carrying out rescue works.

Reporters Club: A truck and car collided in Nawalparasi killing 5 people. The incident happened in Kowasoti 8 of Kharkhatta jungle at approximately 10.15 pm yesterday.

The truck plated Lu 1 Kha 8432 collided with a car numbered Ba 12 Cha 6409.

5 passengers in the car couldn’t survive the impact after the collision. They were grievously injured and was rushed to the Chitwan based Bharatpur Hospital, but the medics in the hospital declared them dead on arrival.

OKHALDHUNGA, Sept 17: A foreign tourist was killed and eight Nepalis were injured in a jeep accident at Ghurmi at Udayapur district on Monday.

The foreign national has been identified as Hules Stevels whose nationality has not been known, according to Ghurmi Traffic Police In-charge Ram Kumar Shah.

Of the eight others injured in the incident, all are Nepalis. Two of the injured are in very critical condition and preparations were being made to send them to Kathmandu for further treatment, shared In-charge Shah.

The incident took place when a jeep (Na 2 Ja 7969) travelling to Okhaldhunga from Kathmandu met with an accident nearby Ghurmi Bazar at Katari Municipality-14 in the district, according to the District Police Office, Udayapur.
The jeep had fallen some 100 meters off the road. RSS

KATHMANDU, August 27: Four people were killed in separate incidents in Chitwan and Siraha districts.

A pedestrian of around 30 years of old died after she was knocked down by a bus (Na 5 Kha 1562) heading to Kathmandu from Rajbiraj. The accident took place at 2:30 am today in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-1, the Chitwan police said. Identity of the deceased woman is not ascertained so far.

Meanwhile, two persons died in separate road accidents occurred last night at Golbazaar and Dhangadhimai of Siraha district along the East West Highway, according to the police.

Police said that cyclist Jibachh Mahato, 55, of Dhangadhimai Municipality-6 succumbed to injuries after a jeep hit him. Seriously injured Mahato breathed his last on the way to Neuro Hospital, Biratnagar.

Likewise, a pedestrian lost his life after a speeding motorcycle hit him near Gagankhola of Dhangadhimai Municipality-8. Police confirmed that seriously injured 22-year-old Govinda Thakur passed away on his way to Biratnagar for medical treatment.

Similarly, 50-year-old Hitlal Mukhiya died after he drowned into a fish pond at Maishota in Siraha Municipality-7, according to the police.
