KATHMANDU, June 3: Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) leader Anil Jha has ruled out any possibility in change in Province 2 government.

Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli inducted two ministers from Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) led by Upendra Yadav into his cabinet on Friday. A day earlier, Nepal Communist Party had withdrawn its support from Lal Babu Raut government. The two Madhes-based parties FSNF and RJPN have formed a coalition government in the province 2.

With FSFN joining the NCP-led central government, theories suggest that there are possibilities of realignment of power equation in province 2 government. NCP’s withdrawal of its support given to Raut government has been taken as a mathematical move aimed at changing the government in province 2.

Following the FSFN’s decision to join Oli government, RJPN leader Manish Suman had claimed that NCP would form its own government in Madhes toppling the Raut’s government.

“The decision of FSFN to join the government will not have any impact on the provincial government,” said Jha at an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Sunday.

“FSFN’s decision will not be a reason for the fall of coalition government in province. The coalition of RJPN and FSFN will stay intact,” he claimed.

“We supported Oli during the premiership election. We were hopeful that if both FSFN and RJPN supports Oli government, the constitution can be amended with two-third majority,” he furthered.

“We still hope the government will revise constitution and addresses the issues of Madhes. The RJPN will continue supporting the Oli government,” he added.

DILMAYA DEVKOTA, KATHMANDU, May 31: Rastriya Janata Party Nepal leader Anil Jha has said that Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli has cheated the senior citizens by not incorporating the promised Rs 5,000 livelihood allowance in the budget for the fiscal year 2018/19.

“Oli wooed the voters promising to provide Rs 5000 monthly as the livelihood allowance. But he cheated them not incorporating his tall promises in the budget,” Jha told Reporters’ Club Nepal on Thursday.

Jha also said that the announced budget has failed to meet the expectation of the people. “The budget deviates from communist party’s election manifesto and the government’s policies and program,” he added.

“This budget will not help in implementing policies and programs,” he furthered.

Jha also said that the government’s target of eight percent economic growth is unachievable.

On a different note, Jha said that the decision of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal led by Upendra Yadav to participate in the Oli-led government will make no difference to RJPN.

FSFN decided to join the government after the two chairs of Nepal Communist Party, Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ signed a written agreement on constitution amendment earlier this week.

“PM Oli has also requested the RJPN to participate in the government. But, a conducive for the same has not yet created,” he added.

KATHMANDU, Feb 24: Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) presidium committee member Anil Jha has clarified that his party will not participate in the government unless the constitution is amended.

His expression comes at a time when the ruling parties Prime Minister K P Oli is exploring a range of possibilities to bring the Madhes-centric parties Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) and RJPN abroad the government.

Earlier this week, UML Secretary Pradeep Gyawali and the party’s senior leader Subas Nembang had held negotiations with FSFN senior leaders Ashok Rai, Shrestha and General Secretary Ram Sahaya Yadav at the UML’s parliamentary party office in Singha Durbar.

Briefing the meeting, FSFN Chair Upendra Yadav had said that his party was positive about participating in the Oli-led government if they are guaranteed constitution amendment.

“We have not thought about joining the government yet. But if the constitution is amended, we will certainly participate in the government,” clarified Jha at an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Saturday.

“In the past, the tabled amendment bill could not get through the parliament due to the non-cooperation from UML. Therefore, at the present circumstances, there is no any possibility of RJPN cooperating the government,” he reiterated.

KATHMANDU, Feb 9: Rastriya Janata Party Nepal Presidium Committee Member, Anil Jha on Friday clarified that his party has not thought about joining the government led by CPN-UML Chair KP Oli.

“RJPN will not participate in Oli-led government. We have not held any discussions yet in this regard. Perhaps, no discussion will be held at all about joining Oli,” said Jha at an interaction program at the Reporters’ Club Nepal.

Jha expressed annoyance over UML’s harsh comments regarding constitution amendment proposal, which failed to pass through the parliament due to non-cooperation from UML, and added, “Therefore, we are not participating in the UML-led government.”

Better for Madhes if Prachanda becomes next PM rather than Oli: Anil Jha https://nepalireporter.com/2018/01/44927 https://nepalireporter.com/2018/01/44927#respond Sat, 06 Jan 2018 11:56:55 +0000 http://nepalireporter.com/?p=44927 JhaAnil Jha, member of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal, on Saturday has argued that it will be better for Madhes if CPN (Maoist Center) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ becomes the prime minister of new government rather than CPN-UML Chair KP Oli.]]> Jha

KATHMANDU, Jan 6: Anil Jha, member of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal, on Saturday has argued that it will be better for Madhes if CPN (Maoist Center) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ becomes the prime minister of new government rather than CPN-UML Chair KP Oli.

“I have already said this. I want to say this today as well that Prachanda is a more liberal leader than Oli. Prachanda has already worked in favor of federalism, inclusiveness and proportional representation,” said Jha at an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Saturday.

“It will be better for Madhes if Prachanda heads the new government,” he added.

Jha also said that the present government should appoint governors and fix temporary capitals without dillydallying.

“We clearly told Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to decide on the issues during the all-party meeting. The constitution provisions the government to decide on province capitals and governors. Thus, the government should not drag other parties on these issues,” he said adding, “The government should decide on these matters immediately.”

Jha also said that RJPN is not eager to join the central government as the party’s focus was to form government in province 2 with Federal Socialist Forum Nepal. He said, “Our struggle is amendment of constitution and fulfillment of Madhes agendas. The people have given us mandate for the same. Thus, our focus is not the central government but on the provincial government.”

GAUR, Dec 4: Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) leader and a House of Representative candidate from Rautahat constituency-1, Anil Jha on Monday said that Nepali Congress has morally lost its ground to seek votes in Madhes as the ruling party has not carried out development in the region.

“NC blocked the development of Gaur. I urge all the Madhesi voters not to vote NC in the upcoming elections,” said Jha while speaking at an election interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal in Gaur of Rautahat.

“NC has always tricked Madhesi people. But now, the people have realized this. Therefore, they will not vote NC,” he added.

He also accused the ruling party NC of forcefully promulgating the constitution going against the will of Madhes and Madhesi people.

Speaking on the occasion, Jha’s competitor and NC candidate Krishna Yadav backfired at Jha saying: “Leaders like Mahantha Thakur and Upendra Yadav were to be blamed for depriving Madhesi people of their rights.”

“They talk big when they visit in Madhes but after they return to the capital they only pay attention to their personal benefit and compromise with big parties,” added Yadav.

Arguing that NC was the only party who could fight for Madhesi people, he urged the voters to vote NC to amend constitution.

Likewise, Nepali Janata Party’s chairperson appealed the voters to elect him instead of NC and RJPN as he was the only leader to work in the development of Madhes.
