BAGLUNG, Aug 5: Landslides triggered by heavy rainfall has obstructed the Baglung section of the mid-hill highway. Traffic on the highway remains stalled due to the landslide that took place last night at ward no. 1 of Kathekhola rural municipality.

As a result, short and long-route passenger vehicles from Burtibang, Kharbang, Galkot and other reasons remain stranded on the road. According to police, work has begun to clear the debris of the landside since early morning.

Traffic may resume only in the afternoon, police head constable Kishore Bhandari said.

BAGLUNG, Dec 9: Left alliance candidates have come out victorious in all constituencies in Baglung in the first phase of the House of Representatives and State Assemblies elections held on November 26.

The district has two seats in the House of Representatives and four in the State Assemblies.

CPN-UML candidate Surya Prasad Pathak representing the left alliance defeated Nepali Congress’s Champa Devi Khadka. He secured 33,645 votes, while Khadka finished with 20,616 in her name.

Likewise, in Baglung -2, CPN (Maoist Center) candidate Devendra Poudel beat NC candidate Neeraj Pun to win the HoR seat with 28,827 votes. Pun got 19,905 votes.

Similarly, CPN-UML candidate Indralal Sapkota came out victorious in the Baglung-1 State Assembly ‘A’ elections by securing 17,915 votes against 11, 989 votes obtained by his nearest rival NC’s Deependra Bahadur Thapa.

Likewise, Rastriya Janamorcha’s Krishna Thapa representing the left alliance won a Baglung-1 State Assembly seat with 15,636 votes. His nearest competitor NC’s Prakash Sharma Poudel secured 9,094 votes.

Similarly, CPN (MC) candidate Chandra Budha won the Baglung-2 State Assembly ‘A’ seat with 17,415 votes against 11,546 votes garnered by his nearest NC’s Manjesh Bam Malla.

Rastriya Janamorcha’s Tek Bahadur Gharti emerged victorious in the Baglung-2 State Assembly elections. He obtained 11,884 votes, while his nearest rival NC’s Jeet Sherchan 8,624 votes. RSS

BAGLUNG, May 19: CPN (UML) mayoral candidate, Janak Poudel, has won the election of Baglung Municipality with 11,614 votes.

Poudel’s nearest rival Basanta Kumar Poudel of the Nepali Congress received 9,319 votes.
Similarly, Surendra Khadka of Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Deputy-Mayor candidate from CPN (UML), Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Rastriya Janamorcha, has got victorious to the post with 10,522 votes. His closest rival Shakuntala Sharma got 8,734 votes.

The Nepali congress has won the election in ward no 11, 13 and 14.

Similarly, the Nepali Congress has won Mayoral post while CPN (UML) clinched Deputy Mayor post in Jaimini Municipality in the district.

Indra Raj Poudel of the NC has won the election to the post of Deputy Mayor with 5,356 votes. His closest rival, Nar Bahadur Pun of Rastrita Janamorcha received 5,250 votes.

Likewise, Leela Rana of the CPN (UML) got victorious to the post of Deputy Mayor with 4,740 votes. Rana’s nearest rival, Kaushila Devi BK of Nepali Congress received 4,648 votes.
Vote counting of all local-level of Baglung district has been concluded with the result of Jaimini Municipality.

NC has won the election in Jaimini Municipality, Galkot Municipality, Nisikhola Rural Municipality and Tamankhola Rural Municipality while CPN (UML) in Baglung Municipality, Burtibang Municipality, Kathekhola Rural Municipality and Badigaun Rural Municipality. RSS
