KATHMANDU, Sept 13: The high level commission formed to look into the rape and murder of Nirmala Panta is preparing the report, said Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal.

Minister Dhakal was responding to lawmakers’ questions in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives. The main opposition Nepali Congress drew the attention of the government to arrest and bring the murderer of Panta to justice, arrest the murderer of Town Chairperson of Nepal Tarun Dal, Rolpa, the youth wing of Nepali Congress and release Raju Basnet, editor of Khojtalas Weekly arrested for writing news tantamount to character assassination.

The minister also informed that the search is ongoing for the murder of Pun.
He also said respective minister would respond to queries to be raised by main opposition in tomorrow’s House meeting. RSS

KATHMANDU, August 3: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) lawmaker Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal has been appointed as the Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.

Former Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Sher Bahadur Tamang had resigned from his post after his controversial remark on female MBBS students in Bangladesh.

BIRATNAGAR, Dec 9: The left alliance won two parliamentary seats in Morang which the total six constituencies. CPN-UML’s Lal Babu Pandit was elected in Morang constituency 6 by defeating Nepali Congress’s Dr Shekhar Koirala with a slight margin of vote.

Pandit received 33,941 votes against 33,266 votes garnered by Dr Koirala.

Likewise, UML’s Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal won a parliamentary seat in Morang 3 with 42,413 votes. His closest contender NC’s Sunil Sharma secured 40,506 votes.
