23 LIVES CLAIMED BY FLOOD

KATHMANDU, Aug 12: Flood caused by the incessant rainfall since Friday has engulfed Biratnagar Airport area. Due to flood the flights to and from the Biratnagar airport has been obstructed.

Meanwhile, the downpour that triggered flood has claimed at least 23 lives in different areas of the eastern districts of the country while scores are missing, according to Home Ministry. After the flood entered the human settlement area, hundreds of people have been displaced.

The rain has also brought halt to the supply of electricity, communication and other essential services affecting the lives in Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Sarlahi and Rautahat districts.
