NUWAKOT, Aug 15: One person has been confirmed dead while the number of the injured has also increased in a bus accident occurred at Lamatar of Bidur Municipality-9 late this morning.

The deceased have been identified as Motimaya Tamang, 56, of Tupche of Bidur-7 who was among the nine referred to Kathmandu for further treatment died amidst the treatment, police said.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bheem Lal Bhattarai, Tamang who had been taken to Kathmandu on a helicopter breathed her last in course of treatment at the Grande Hospital.

Others injured who have been sent to Kathmandu are Prem Singh Tamang, 56; Hom Bahadur Tamang, 57; Diwamaya Tamang, 20; Chhiring Tamang, 75; Purba Bahadur Lama Tamang, 56; Bir Bahadur BK; Uttam BK and Mangalimaya Tamang, 40. They have been admitted to the Green City Hospital and Grande Hospital.
Others are being treated at the Trishuli Hospital.

NUWAKOT, Aug 15: At least 40 people have been injured in an accident involving a passenger bus on Wednesday.

The bus en route to Kathmandu from Bungtang met with an accident at Lamatar of Bidur Municipality-9.

As stated by the police, the bus (Ba 2 Kha 2804) fell some 40 meters down the road as the road caved in from its edge when the bus was trying to clear space for another vehicle.

Among the injured, seven in critical condition, have been sent to Kathmandu for further treatment while others are undergoing treatment at the Trishuli Hospital, according to Nuwakot’s  SSP, Basanta Bahadur Kunwar.

KANCHANPUR, Oct 25: Twenty two passengers were injured after a Mahendranagar bound bus (Na 4 Kha 8039) from Dadeldhura met an accident at Kaluwapur of Shuklaphanta Municipality-11 of Kanchanpur along the East-West Highway on Wednesday.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Lalmani Joshi said that the injured are rushed to Attariya of Kailali after the first aid at Jhalari-based local health facility.

The accident took place when the passenger bus (Na 4 Kha 3981) heading for Dhangadhi from Kathmandu collided with the truck (Lu 1 Kha 6469) this morning.

Helper of the bus and Alka Chaudhary of Partapur-9 of Kailali district died in the incident while four others were injured. Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police Krishna Khatri said that all the injured are being treated at Kohalpur Medical College, Banke.

Police identified the dead as Prakash Khadka of Bardiya and a woman. Identity of the woman is yet not known.
The injured are Manoj Chaudhary, Ane Nepali, Nabraj Bhandari and Akkal Saud. The injured are receiving treatment at different hospitals in the district.

Tanker driver Chhatra Bahadur Thapa of Sarlahi and next one have gone missing. Identity of the second one is not ascertained, police said.

The tanker (Ga 1 Gha 544) was heading for Kathmandu from Butwal. However, tanker’s helper Prakash Poudel was rescued and is undergoing treatment in the capital.  

The deceased are not identified yet.

The bus  (Na 3 Kha 4738) was heading to Surkhet. The accident took place after the bus fell some 200 meters in Karnali River at Siyala, police said.

Currently, locals and police personnel are carrying out the rescue to the injured.

Police identified the dead as Bina Kumari Chaudhary of Sisahaniya VDC-4 in Dang district and armyman Rajan Rai and his son. Rai was working in Jumla in the army barrack.  All the injured are receiving treatment in local hospital.

The accident occurred after the bus(Na 4 Kha 7398) en route to Bardiya from Baglung hit another parked bus(Na 3 Kha 5168) at Umarichowk of Shivapur, Kapilbastu.

The statue was installed for offering worship during the Dashain festival and there is the tradition of disposing of these statues of Hindu goddesses in rivers and ponds once the festival concludes.

The youth has been identified as 17-year-old Amar Saha of Ramnagar Mirchaiya-3. Saha drowned as he was trying to immerse the statue in the Kamala River , the Area Police Office, Mirchaiya stated. RSS
