KATHMANDU, Nov 3: The Election Commission (EC) today released the closed lists of the proportional electoral system submitted by political parties for the elections of the federal and provincial elections.

According to EC, it has received the name lists of 6,094 candidates from various political parties.

The secretary at the EC Begendra Raj Poudyal released the closed lists by organizing a press meet in the EC office.

Of the 88 political parties registered in the EC, only 49 political parties have submitted the closed lists to the elections to the House of Representatives and 53 parties have submitted the closed lists to the State Assemblies under the proportional category.

The EC will publish its final lists on November 19 after studying the complaints over the candidates. RSS
