KATHMANDU, May 1: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stressed on need for mandatory unity among the communist forces at a time when the country is moving ahead in the path of stability and prosperity.

In a greetings message on the International Labors Day, Dahal said the polarization of the progressive communists can alone secure the rights of freedom-seeking working class. “It is the chief workload of the Nepali working class to fight for creation of the base for socialism,” he said in the statement.

Dahal also extended his gratitude towards the sacrifice and rigorous dedication of the working class in Nepali people’s stride towards freedom – based agitation.

Dahal also prayed for the working class’ ability to play a front role in heralding stability, prosperity and socialist economy’s development in the backdrop of constitution’s successful implementation.

Chair Dahal extended greetings to the workers in Nepal and around the world on the occasion of the 129th International Workers’ Day. RSS

KATHMANDU, April 27: CPN (Maoist Center) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has said that teachers have significant and decisive role in bringing political changes in the country.

During his meeting with a delegation led by World Federation of Teachers Unions (WFTU) president Ms Mahfuza Khanam at his private residence Baluwatar, he highlighted the contribution of teachers to the Nepal’s political and educational movements.

“Teachers had contributed a lot to movements against unfair systems and to the decade-long people’ war in the country,” he said, adding that recent political change at home had led the country towards a path of economic change.

The WFTU is to host its 19th world conference in coming September in Nepal and its representatives who arrived here in course of the conference preparations reached Khumalatar to call on leader Dahal.

On the occasion, the former Prime Minister said he was pleased to hear that the conference was being held in Nepal. He took the time to say that most of party leaders are from the teaching background.

The WFTU president the teachers’ struggle in Nepal was a matter of pride for the world. Terming Dahal as an ideal personality and source of inspiration for the entire teachers’ community, she expressed her gratitude for courtesy showed by Dahal towards the delegation.

RAUTAHAT, April 26: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the left alliance government is preparing policies and programs to facelift the country.

Addressing a program organized to lay foundation stone for different roads and drainage under the Smart City at Chandrapur municipality-2, Chairman Dahal clarified that journey of the country is the journey of good governance, stability and prosperity.

He further said that a time has come where all should move ahead together to head the country towards the journey of prosperity in coming days.

Highly evaluating the leading role of Rautahat in every political changes of the country, Chairman Dahal said that, out of 10 cities of the country, Chandrapur was enlisted in the list of smart city during the term of the then Minister for Urban Development, Prabhu Shah.

Also the former Prime Minister, Dahal said that Detailed Project Report was underway to transform Chandranigahapur into a smart city and clarified that he has directed Industry Minister, Matrika Yadav, to construct industrial corridor.

Similarly, parliamentarian Prabhu Shah Rautahat would now be developed as a number one city.

CHITWAN, April 25: CPN (Maoist Center) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said development to be achieved by India and China leaving aside Nepal would not be complete.

In his address to the 25th central assembly of Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh (NNJS) Wednesday, he said China and India taking country that lies in between them together in their development endeavors would take such efforts to the completion.

He further said that he had already apprised the Prime Minister of India and the President of China about it during his meetings with the executive heads of the emerging neighbors. He took the time to claim that of late Nepal’s relations with its close neighbors had further strengthened.

The former Prime Minister spoke of the need of collective commitments from all walks of live to develop the nation. There lies a high possibility that Nepal could make a great stride by the next eight to ten years if collective efforts were focused on development and good governance, according to him. As he added, none else had the space for moving towards any sorts of extremism.

The chairman of the ruling partner of the government announced that the guarantee of people’s right to health and employment would be brought under the special priority of the government. On the occasion, he applauded the contribution of Netrojyoti Sangh to the sector of eye health.

As informed by NNJS central chair Prof Dr Tirtha Prasad Mishra on the occasion, the organization provides eye treatment and care facilities from 18 hospitals and 84 centers across the country.

In the past one year, it recorded 350,000 cases of eye surgery and 3.5 million people benefitted from its services.

CHITWAN, April 25: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that an integrated development model is being prepared by incorporating Chitwan and neighboring districts.

At an interaction program organized by Press Center Nepal Chitwan chapter on Wednesday, the former prime minister said that such integrated development plan should be made by incorporating Nawalpur, Makawanpur, Dhading and Thori of Parsa district.

Saying that exemplary model of development would be carried out, the Maoist Chairman stressed on the maximum utilization of natural resources available in the region.

Prachanda, also the Member of Parliament from Chitwan-3, said that other adjoining locations should also be taken into consideration while developing the area.

“Development model should be prepared by looking at the geo-political situation of Chitwan with Nawalpur, Makawanpur, Dhading, Thori and India,” he shared.

Stating that consultations with leaders and intellectuals were ongoing about the development of the region, the former prime minister vowed to unveil international standard of development.

“I visit different places in Chitwan whenever I visit here. I don’t visit for relaxation rather to find out the development potentials,” he revealed the purpose of his repeated visits in his hometown Chitwan.

On the occasion, Prachanda also made his statement to completely stop the practice of land plotting.

He said discussions with Israel are going on to make model agricultural region in Chitwan based on integrated agriculture system.

Likewise, the Maoist Chairman said that positive discussions were held on Tuesday evening with a Chinese delegation to establish industries in Chitwan. He said that the Chinese investors are proposing to establish steel, iron, garment and footwear factories.

Saying that Chitwan can be a hub for education and health, Dahal claimed he was according top priority to the concerned programs.

Likewise, he said the police headquarters of Province No. 3 would be stationed in Chitwan while the central office of the President Chure Conservation Committee would also be established in Chitwan.

Dahal also reiterated his commitments made during the election rallies and added that some projects would be advanced in the current fiscal year while some others would get budget from the upcoming fiscal year. RSS

Issuing a press note Sunday on the occasion of Nepal Communist Party’s 69th establishment day and Lenin Day, Prachanda has asked all to join this historical campaign of creating a basis of socialism.

On the occasion, the former prime minister has also wished best wishes to all progressive and patriot communities, and condolence to the martyrs.

Similarly, Prachanda has expressed his tribute to the persons enforced disappearances and has wished for the speedy recovery of the injured ones.

Prachanda has also recalled that the communist movement in Nepal has come to this stage by witnessing a serious of class struggle, ideological struggles, splits and unities, and has urged all to move ahead in unity.

In the statement, the Maoist Centre Chairman has stated the people’s movement carried out on the base of the People’s War abolished the monarchy and the federal democratic republic constitution was promulgated through the Constituent Assembly (CA).

CHITWAN, April 18: CPN (Maoist Center) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the issue of taking up an election symbol after the unification with CPN-UML has not been finalized yet.

Speaking at a press meet organized by the Press Center, Chitwan on Wednesday, he said that the issue is under discussion.

As he said, there is no debate over the unification issues between the two parties, but further discussions are left.

He further said that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and he would hold further discussions on Thursday to fix the date for uniting the parties.

He said that both parties are not sure whether coming April 22 will be sufficient to complete all preparations for the party unification, adding that efforts would continue but there was no need to wait for more days for that.

In-depth discussions over the reports presented by two task forces have begun since yesterday and the chairmen of both political parties have been given the responsibility for sorting out some outstanding issues, he added.

The report presented by a taskforce led by Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has recommended for further discussions on how to present the people’s war and define the people’s movement in party’s statute after the unification, how to sort out issue of election symbol, and determine the structures of central committee, provincial committee and district committee in the modality of unification.

On a different note, he ruled out media reports about the dispute over power sharing issues in the unification process, adding that the unification would guarantee equal representation and respectable presence of both chairs and good people. He, however, admitted intra-party discussion about the prime minister’s performance.

On the same occasion, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has said an end to syndicate in transport sector has already begun. He was of the view that none holds the right to earn unethical profit through syndicate in the operation of services.

Home Minister Thapa said the government is committed making the school enrollment campaign fully successful. The campaign dreams to see all school age children in schools. RSS

CHITWAN, April 13: CPN (Maoist Center) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal has reiterated that the Bandarmudhe incident was the ‘greatest mistake’ made during the people’s war (decade-long armed conflict).

During an interaction program organized by the Bandarmudhe Support Committee in Chitwan on Friday, he said that he holds the moral and political responsibility to work for the relief of the survivors.

“Now the country has a strong government and it provides a ground for implementing the past agreements reached with the survivors,” he said, adding that works were on progress to enforce the three-point agreement he signed with the survivors during the recent election campaign.

He made it clear that there is no debate regarding the decision of the erstwhile government to give the status of martyrs to those killed in the Bandarmudhe blast.

Dahal pledged to come up with programs of relief for the survivors.

As many as 38 people had lost their lives while 72 were left mutilated in a bomb blast on a passenger bus on June 6, 2005. The bus had come under an electric ambush placed by the then rebelling CPN Maoist at Bandarmudhe of Chitwan.

On the occasion, Bandarmudhe Victims’ Struggle Committee chair Mukti Neupanne, and members Maina Lamichhane and Bishwanath Poudel demanded free treatment to those injured who have been living with the effects of blast and clear information about relief assistance raised in the name of Bandarmudhe survivors.

Meantime, during his interactions with people’s representatives at Madi earlier today, leader Dahal who is also the federal parliament member from here (Chitwan 3) said the Chitwan National Park had proved a ‘curse’ for the Chitwan folks. The former Prime Minister assured of his initiations to amend the National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act- 1973 (2029 BS).

He underlined the need of amending the act to provide justice to the Chitwan people.

CHITWAN, April 12: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the next meeting of the task forces of the two parties for party unification would finalize all issues in order to announce party unification on April 22.

At a condolence assembly of Dahal’s brother in law, Maha Prasad Poudel, organized on Thursday, Chairman Dahal said that the next meeting to be held between the two parties, once he returns Kathmandu on Friday, would give final shape to the party announcement.

He further said that there was no dissatisfaction in the proposal prepared by the Party Unification Coordination Taskforce.

Chairman Dahal said that the party unification would be finalized after holding some discussion on statute.

Saying the news disseminated in some media is only rumor, he clarified that there was no disruption in the motion of party unification. He added that the people’s expectation from left alliance would be addressed.

Dahal further said that the government would bring policy and program and new budget soon that would give new motion to development construction.
