BHAKTAPUR, Dec 21: Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on Thursday telephoned CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and congratulated the latter on the victory in the recently held elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies.

Modi also invited UML Chairman Oli for India visit.

On the occasion, Modi expressed happiness for the grand success of the left alliance in the polls.

Issuing a press note, UML secretary Pardip Kumar Gyawali said Indian PM Modi expressed happiness for completing all three-tiers of elections in Nepal during his telephonic conservation with Oli.

Modi said that success of polls has strengthened democracy in Nepal and expressed confidence that economic development would be achieved after political stability from the victory of left alliance.

Indian Prime Minister said that he was eager to welcome Oli in India after the formation of new government, adding that India was waiting to co-work with the new government.

In response to Modi’s message, Oli thanked for Modi’s wishes, adding that his attention was for political stability, strengthening of democracy, good governance and economic development. “For this, best relations would be maintained with the neighboring countries,” Oli said.

Likewise, Oli extended invitation to Indian PM Modi for Nepal visit. Oli said that the invitation for visit would be sent for Nepal visit soon after the formation of new government. RSS

BIRATANGAR, Dec 3: CPN-UML Chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said that the parties who were against the national interest and welfare are raising the issue of multi-nation and multi-nationalities.

Speaking at an election program at PushpaLal Chowk in Biratnagar on Sunday, chair Oli said that the left alliance was forged for political stability, national prosperity and to ensure the rights to the marginalized communities.

He committed to developing the East-West Highway into a six-lane highway in assistance of US government, which is providing 500 billion US dollars for the project.

He further committed to expediting various developmental projects including mountainous and hilly roads in the region.

On another note, chair Oli shared that then government led by him had declared Nepali Congress leaders and cadres who were killed by the Panchyat as martyrs. NC cadres Durgananda Jha, Bhim Narayan Shrestha, Yagya Bahadur Thapa and Ram Laxman were killed during the Panchyat regime.

Speaking at the same program, UML leader Lalbabu Pandit, who is contesting polls from Morang-6 to the House of Representatives, said that the NC had pushed Biratnagar to the sixth ranking city from the first one.

He further committed to developing the Biratanagar as the provincial capital.
Similarly, CPN (Maoist Centre) leaders Lila Mani Pokharel and Morang-4 candidate Aman Lal Modi urged voters to cast votes for the left alliance candidates.

BHADRAPUR, Nov 30: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the achievements obtained from political movements in the past were not safeguarded due to poor status of the communists.

Addressing an election rally in Jhapa-3 on Thursday, Oli said that the constitution was promulgated due to strong position of the communist parties. Oli is the candidate of Jhapa-5 in the elections to the House of Representatives.

Oli also said that maximum utilization of natural resources, modernization of agriculture, country’s industrialization, development and expansion of information technology in the country were the national agendas of the left alliance.

The UML Chairman assured to unite the country into a single thread.

On the occasion, he urged the voters to honestly cast votes to the candidates of left alliance in all constituencies in Jhapa district.

Likewise, Maoist candidate in Jhapa-1 Surendra Kumar Karki said that the citizens should make victorious to the candidates of parties that work in favor of people adding that the upcoming elections would determine the people’s fate.
Similarly, candidate of Jhapa-3 from the alliance and Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader Rajendra Kumar Lingden claimed that he would not come to seek votes from people if he could not work for the development of the constituency in the upcoming five years. RSS

Speaking at a press meet in Damak on Friday, he said, “Prosperity and ruling system as per the interests of people would be established in the nation after the elections.”

He went on to claim that the recently forged leftist alliance was meant for meeting the above mentioned interests. The leftist alliance is unveiling the election manifesto on coming Monday.

The UML chair took the time to urge the Nepali Congress and other political parties to take part in the elections fairly, not to ‘label’ false charge against the alliance and not to abuse the power. RSS

BIRATNAGAR, Nov 2: CPN-UML chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the leftist alliance has been formed in association with the parties sharing the same ideology for the stability of democracy.

Talking to journalists at Biratnagar Airport on Thursday, the UML chairman and former Prime Minister expressed concern over what he said many parties have come into being for petty party interest rather than for the welfare of the people and the country.

Parties should be formed on the basis of political principles and ideology, he stressed.

He also made it clear that at the time of forming the alliance no any agreement has been made with the CPN (Maoist Center) that the post of Prime Minister would be offered to him after the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections.

The UML chairman also claimed it is his party that would solidly protect the nationality and steer the country towards prosperity.

Stating that the RPP had approached them seeking their cooperation in the election in Jhapa district constituency-3, Oli said the leftist alliance has decided not to field candidacy from that constituency on behalf the leftist alliance to support the RPP.

UML chairman Oli claimed that his party was committed to democratic stability, peace and maintaining social harmony in the country. It is never in support of violence, he asserted.

Oli was on the way to Jhapa to file his candidacy for the House of Representatives elections from Jhapa constituency-5. RSS

BHAKTAPUR, Oct 15: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the CPN-UML would move ahead by tearing apart the misconception spread against the party.

Chairman Oli made such remark while welcoming Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader and outgoing Deputy-Speaker Ganga Prasad Yadav to the CPN-UML at his own residence at Balkot today.

He said, “The UML has become the largest party of the country from today following the result of the local-level elections at a time when the parliament does not exist.”

Oli blamed that although the government that he led had initiated different works related to education, health, employment, irrigation and other development works in the Tarai region, the incumbent government has left such programs in uncertainty.

On the occasion, Yadav said that he joined the UML the next day after becoming outgoing Deputy-Speaker, being motivated by the works carried out by the Oli-led government in the past and moved by leader Oli’s thoughts of unifying the mountainous, hilly and the Tarai region.

Meanwhile, central committee member of Chanda-led Communist Party of Nepal, Dal Bahadur Basnet, also joined the UML.

CPN-UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel and leader of CPN-UML Parliamentary Party, Subas Nembang, welcomed Yadav and Basnet by offering tika and scarf.

SIRAHA, Oct 8: The CPN-UML has unanimously recommended party Chairman KP Sharma Oli to contest the House of Representatives elections from Siraha constituency-1.

A UML regional committee meeting took a decision to this effect. Likewise, Rajendra Chaudhary and Ashok Yadav were proposed to run the State Assemblies elections from the province constituency-1 and 2 respectively. The elections are slated for November 26 and December 7 respectively.

Meanwhile, a fringe party Mulbasi Mukti has decided to contest the elections under UML’s election symbol ‘Sun’. RSS
