KATHMANDU, Aug 30: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has expressed his dissatisfaction over the government’s decision to conduct the election of Province and House of Representatives in two rounds.

“The government made this decision without consultation with UML,” fumed Oli taking to media persons upon his arrival from Thailand medical trip at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

The government today after consultation with the Election Commission decided to conduct the Province and Federal elections on two stages. Earlier the government had decided to conduct both polls in a single go and had fixed the date November 26 for holding elections. The second round of elections will be held on December 7.

“First they fixed November 23. Then, citing lack of time for election preparation, the election was rescheduled for November 26. Now, it has been postponed again. We don’t see any necessity for postponing election,” said Oli.

Chair Oli also slammed Rastriya Janata Party Nepal’s attempt to obstruct UML’s function in Janakpur on Tuesday. “It’s not a political character of any party. RJPN is adopting a politics of violence,” he added.

He warned, “It won’t be good if UML retaliates.”

KATHMANDU, Aug 25: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has termed Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s India visit as the most ‘shameful state visit ever’.

Oli, talking to media person before leaving to Thailand for medical checkup, argued that PM Deuba’s expression concerning the constitution amendment process of Nepal at Hyderabad House in New Delhi has made mockery of Nepal’s nationality and sovereignty.

It may be noted that PM Deuba speaking at the joint press meet organized at the Hyderabad House after the bilateral meeting with his counterpart Narendra Modi has assured of constitution amendment for making Nepal’s constitution acceptable to all Nepali people.

He further said, “Deuba raised the issue of constitution amendment, out of context, before Indian leaders. It is clear that he is trying to please India.”

“It seems Deuba is apologizing to Indian leader for failing to amend constitution,” he said adding, “It’s shameful and dishonorable.”

“He spoke going beyond Nepal’s pride and ridiculed Nepal parliament from the foreign country,” Oli added.
