KATHMANDU, Oct 11: The CPN (Maoist Center) and the CPN (United) have announced unity on Wednesday.

During a program organized in Kathmandu, Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN (United) Chairman Ganesh Saha signed in a joint press statement mentioning the party unity.

Addressing the program, Chairman Dahal said bandwagon of the coming together of the leftist and communist forces would help accomplish the socialist revolution.

“There is two-thirds mandate of the leftist forces in Nepal. If it is unified, the model of the socialist revolution could be developed,” he underscored.

Chairman Dahal further said the series of unity is a grand debate, which helps pave way for socialism. “I’m in the campaign of making a comprehensive communist party along with the coming together of the CPN-UML.

Chairman of CPN (United), Saha said the central committee meeting of his party held on Monday and Tuesday had unanimously decided to be united with the Maoist Centre.

“Not a division, but unity among the communists is imperative to end feudalism in Nepal,” he argued.

Representing the CPN (United), Mithila Chaudhary, is holding the Ministry of Populations and Environment now. RSS

KATHMANDU, Oct 9: The CPN (United) is to unite with the CPN (Maoist Center). A politburo meeting of the party held today formally decided to integrate with the Maoist Center.

As stated by party chair Ganesh Shah, the decision had been already taken to go for the unification process with the Maoist Center and the party’s central committee meeting scheduled for tomorrow will endorse the decision, paving the way for the party to begin unification process.

In the meeting, party general secretary Sunil Manandhar floated the proposal for party unification. The party is in touch with the Maoist Center for unification.

The party had already decided to take part in the election with the election symbol of ‘sickle and hammer’, the election symbol of Maoist Center. RSS

KATHMANDU, May 22: The CPN (United) has decided to support the constitution amendment bill which is registered in the parliament.

The politburo meeting of the party presided over by the party chairman Ganesh Shah today has opined for forwarding the bill before the second phase of local poll to complete it peacefully.

The meeting has thanked political parties and concerned sides for completing first phase local level election peacefully.

It further has drawn the attention of election commission regarding violation of election code of conduct.

According to party publicity department chief Kedar Chandra Sharma, the meeting reviewed the first phase local poll and contemporary politics, and decided to make coalition with progressive and leftist parties in upcoming second phase election slated for June 14. RSS
