However, the fringe parties have not challenged the major parties’ decision in principle to form the CJ-led election government.

A meeting of the 24 parties represented in the dissolved Constituent Assembly at International Convention Hall, New Baneshwor, protested the major parties’ bossism for trying to impose their political syndicate in the country. They also protested the major parties’ decision to amend the Interim Constitution in unnecessary issues.

Prem Bahadur Singh, a leader present at the meeting, said the meeting also condemned the major parties claiming that the parties also devalued the dignity of the President by making the President Office as their party office. The parties have also demanded a package deal without breaching the theory of power separations.

Minister for Cooperatives Yeknath Dhakal said that the major parties’ discussions were not transparent and the consensus made without their participation was not acceptable to them. The fringe parties including Federal Socialist Party, Rastriya Janashakti Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal, CPN (Unified) and Nepal Pariwar Dal, among others have escalated their plan to form an alliance.

Parties taking final decision on CJ-led government today https://nepalireporter.com/2013/02/7719 https://nepalireporter.com/2013/02/7719#respond Sat, 16 Feb 2013 08:08:42 +0000 http://nepalireporter.com/?p=7719 KATHMANDU: The four major political parties—UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN (UML) and Madhesi Morcha—are holding a decisive talk before President Dr Ram Baran Yadav today to form the Chief Justice-led election government.

The meeting would begin at the President House after the UML makes its final decision on the CJ-led government from the emergency CC meeting.

The President and top leaders of the major political forces would also discuss the name, forms and size of the election government, to be mostly dominated by the nonpolitical figures.

The major political parties are holding discussions on the CJ-led government after the UCPN (Maoist) endorsed a decision from its seventh general convention held in Hetauda nearly 10 days ago.  The UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and other leaders are saying that this was the last and best formula to end the latest political deadlock in the country.

It is learnt that major political parties have almost agreed on the CJ-led government but some issues including the rights of the government, members to be appointed, date for fresh elections and provision to call back the government if it fails to hold the CA elections, among  others are left to sort out by the top leaders.
