The proposed 40-metre-long bridge is being constructed with Indian assistance of Rs. 31.79 million under the Nepal-India Cooperation Program. This bridge would serve as a link to the road connecting the Nepal-India border.

The India-Nepal Economic Program has an outlay of over Rs 65 billion with more than 450 large and small development projects completed or currently being implemented in almost all the districts of Nepal.

A press release issued today by the Embassy of India, Kathmandu states that the construction of the bridge along with embankment on both sides of the bridge will facilitate the easy movement of goods and services. It is expected that over 75,000 people of eight VDCs are going to be benefited from this bridge by providing all year connectivity with the district.

In addition to this project, two school buildings in Bara District have been built with Indian assistance of Rs. 29.30 million. India has also provided nine ambulances and three school buses in the district.

Kuwait Fund for Budhi Gandaki hydel project https://nepalireporter.com/2013/03/9593 https://nepalireporter.com/2013/03/9593#respond Fri, 22 Mar 2013 18:16:18 +0000 http://nepalireporter.com/?p=9593 KATHMANDU: The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development has agreed to provide a loan assistance of Rs 1.55 billion to Nepal for the implementation of the Budhi Ganga Hydropower Project.

An agreement to this end was signed and exchanged amidst a ceremony at the Ministry of Finance on Friday. The project with a capacity of generating 20MW of electricity shall be operated in Achham district.

Madhhu Kumar Marasini, Joint Secretary and Chief of the International Economic Cooperation and Coordination Division, Ministry of Finance and Mr Hesham Al-Waqayan, Deputy Director General, Kuwait Fund signed on the agreement on behalf of the respective sides.
