KATHMANDU: Majority of the Government offices here are without their Chiefs, long before the Bada Dashain festival holidays have begun.

The Office Chiefs have reportedly left for their respective homes to celebrate the upcoming Dashain festival, leaving the service recipients deprived of their services.

The District Development Committee, Dhangadi Municipality, the Survey Office, District Public Health Office, Underground Water Resource Development Committee and others that are directly concerned with the people are presently running without their respective boss. Majority of the bosses left even before Ghatasthapana on October 16, sources said.

Due to absence of the Office chiefs the service recipients are returning empty handed from the public offices, said Lekh Raj Ojha of Beladevipur, Kailali.

Accepting the fact that majority of the offices in the district headquarters are sans their heads, Officiating Chief District Officer Bhavadev Badu said some of the Office Chiefs have left for home on leave while some have gone on a deputation.

As per the rule, the Office Chiefs need to take approval of the CDO to leave the district but majority of them have flouted the rule.

Only around five of them sought my permission before going for leave, Badu said. RSS
