A Nepal police team rescued five teenage girls and a woman from Bhadrpur Jhapa.

The 9 girls and woman were taken to India with a promise to be flown to Dubai for employment via New Delhi. Krishna Gurung, 50, of Hetauda, the main accused trafficker managed to flee the scene.

However, the police managed to arrest Gurung’s sister Tara Devi Gurung for her rented room near Shiva Temple of Bhadrapur. The accused and the rescued girls have been sent to District Police Office Jhapa.

The name of the rescued women are Sangita Bisankhe, 19, of Thangpaldhap, Sushma Tamang, 19, of Bhimkharka-8, Pratima Tamang, 19, of Gumsa-2, Anita Tamang, 20, of Banskharka-9, Sindhupalchowk, Ambika Roka, 19, of Chhewang, Dhading and Sita Danuwar, 30, of Hariban VDC, Sarlahi the police said.

Similarly, a team of Armed Police Force (APF), on Saturday rescued three girls from being trafficked to New Delhi at Malangwa border of Sarlahi district.

Bir Bahadur Tamang of Sindhupalchowk and Chandra Bahadur Moktan of Atrauli VDC, Sarlahi were arrested trying to traffic the girls. The duo were trying to traffic Som Maya Moktan of Makawanpur, Lila Thapa of Morang and Jangmi Sherpa of Dolakha to New Delhi.
Accused Bir Bahadur has conceded that they were trying to push the girls to India for getting good commission.

The youth identified as Gajendra Sardar of local Harirawa, Nakati Rayapur-4 is learnt to have sold his son to a Muslim couple ‘to manage money for buying alcohol’.

Police have detained Sardar, 38-year-old Jakir Ansari and his wife Koresa Khatun (30) of Rajbiraj-9 who allegedly bought the child and 30-year-old Lalmohammad Raeen of Harirawa who helped in striking the deal.

It is learnt that Raeen had taken the child to the Ansari couple who is childless. Police are preparing to file a case against all the four on child trafficking charges.
