NEW DELHI, Aug 25: Indian diplomat and Foreign Secretary of India Subrahmanyam Jaishankar has cleared that the Indian policy regarding the Nepal’s constitution remains stagnant.

“India’s position concerning the issues of Nepal’s constitution amendment has not changed,” said Jaishankhar while addressing a media briefing on Thursday evening in New Delhi.

His statement comes after Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is on a five-day state visit to India at the invitation of his counterpart Narendra Modi, assured Delhi of constitution amendment at Hyderabad House on Thursday afternoon.

“In constitution implementation process, the effort to make the constitution acceptable to all people of all communicates should be kept on,” added diplomat Jaishankhar.

“Nepal should establish itself as a Federal Democratic Republic country,” he added.

On the occasion, Jaishankhar also said that no talks regarding the Doklam standoff.
