Biratnagar, 29th January : Senior leader of Prachanda-Nepal faction of NCP Jhalanath Khanal said political parties were taking to street for the protection of democracy brought with huge struggle and sacrifice.

Also the former prime minister, Khanal viewed the agitation would help consolidate achievements with the protection of democracy and constitution. He said it while talking to media persons at Biratnagar airport on Thursday. “Restoration of House of Representatives is imperative at present, so the agitation is continued,” he argued.

In response to a question, the senior leader said the Election Commission could do its works though EC was not ultimate body pertaining to election.

He even claimed that Election Commission would give recognition to his faction because it had two-thirds of party members. Moreover, Khanal expressed belief that all political parties believing in democracy would stand together for passing the no-confidence motion against Chief Minister in province. Kathmandu, July 11 : Senior leader of the ruling Nepal Communist Party Jhalanath Khanal has urged all three layers of government to expedite the search of those missing in the disasters, rescue on time and provide relief materials to the survivors in the wake of floods and landslides occurred with active monsoon across the country of late.

Issuing a press note, the former Prime Minister appealed to all political parties’ leaders and cadres, social activities, locals, people’s representatives and security persons to be united and devote to searching and rescuing the people affected in the floods and landslides. He added that he was saddened over the loss of lives and property in the disasters caused by the torrential rains in the districts including Sindhupalchowk, Myagdi, Parbat, Gulmi, Bajhang, Lamjung Kaski, Rukum, Jajarkot and Rolpa.RSS

MYAGDI, July 22: CPN-UML senior leader and former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal has said that the constitution cannot be amended before the elections.

Speaking at a program organized to mark the 39th memorial day of founding general secretary of Nepal Communist Party Pushpa Lal Shrestha in Beni today, leader Khanal said the constitution shall be amended as per the need of the nation only after all the three tiers’ election have been completed.

Stating that the policy adopted by late Pushpa Lal led to the downfall of the Rana rule in Nepal, leader Khanal discussed about the late leader’s contribution in the communist, patriotic and democratic movements of Nepal. RSS
