Kathmandu: Home Minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire has warned the stern action against those holding gathering rallies during the silence period of the CA polls. Speaking at a special interaction programme organised by Reporters Club Nepal at Home Ministry today, he said that the government would not leave anybody holding activities by the poll opposing parties during the silence period, when even the political parties participating the CA polls are not allowed to hold any election related activities. “The government will not remain mute spectator, but will immediately intervene if poll opposing parties hold any gathering, protests, sit-in or other activities. Whoever the leader is, the government will not leave,” Minister Ghimire warned.
Stating that the anti-election activities to create terror among the voters were inhumane and criminal, he vowed to take stern action after the investigation against those arrested on such violent activities irrespective of pressures from any leader.  “We will investigate. It seems these anti-poll activities are conducted under the direction of top leaders. One it is confirmed, we will book those leaders also. Action will be taken to both- those issuing the orders and following it,” Minister Ghimire said.
He also informed that all the preparations were completed for the CA polls. He said that the security arrangements were made to provide security to voters to come to the polling booth and return to their home safely. Minister Ghimire argued that the violent activities carried out covertly were the cowardly acts. He said that to not take the responsibility of one’s act was the political dishonesty. He claimed that the poll related incidents have surged by 80 per cent in comparison to the previous polls. “This election would be fair, clean and free from any rigging ,” claimed Ghimire.
Reporters Club Nepal president Dhamala lauded the commitment of all political parties on the eve of the election to hold it in a free, fair and fearless manners.
