BIRATANAGAR, Dec 26: CPN (Maoist Center) leader and Minister without portfolio Girirajmani Pokhrel has said that unification of the Maoist Centre and CPN-UML should be held prior to formation of the new government.

At a program organized by Press Centre Morang chapter on Tuesday in Biratnagar, he said the people have given the mandate for party unification for the left alliance.

Stating that conspiracies are being hatched to split the left alliance, the Maoist Center leader added that formation of government beyond the left alliance would be against the people’s mandate.

Regarding the ordinance on formation of the National Assembly and appointments of State Chiefs, Pokharel said that political parties should forge consensus.

The new government would work for the development of the country for social justice, equality, prosperity and socialism, Pokharel stated. RSS

GAUSHALA, Aug 20: Minister for Health, Girirajmani Pokhrel, has today directed the health workers of Mahottari district to provide 24 hours service for flood-survivors.

Health Minister Pokhrel issued such directive during a visit to the District Public Health Office at Jaleshwor. Some 40,000 families have been affected by floods in Mahottari.

He also directed the health workers to reach to the flood-hit areas in the district along with medicines, and avoiding spreading of the disease. After inspecting the medicines stored at the storage of the Office, and the emergency section of the District Hospital, Health Minister Pokhrel expressed commitment to increase capacity of the hospital and to send doctors and health workers as per the quota of the hospital.

There are presently only three doctors in the 25-bed hospital. RSS
