KATHMANDU, April 13: The government has started to work on its plan to integrate ministries in line with a new organogram.

It may be noted the Council of Ministers few days ago accepted the proposal about new organizational chart of reconstituted ministers, said Spokesperson at the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, Shibaram Neupane.

“Works are on the progress to determine the structure of reconstituted ministries as approved by the Cabinet meeting,” he said. The Cabinet meeting approved a quota for 2,694 people in 21 ministries, deciding to restructure the ministries.

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has the maximum quotas (233) while the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens has 46 quotas. The number of ministries was downsized to 21 from 31 as per the government decision.

KATHMANDU, Feb 23: A meeting of the Council of Minister on Friday has decided to reduce the number of ministries from 18 to 17, excluding the office of prime minister.

The meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence at Baluwatar took a decision to this effect, according to Minister for Population and Environment Lalbabu Pandit.

The UML is now holding a standing committee meeting to finalize candidate for ministers. The two left parties have agreed to allocate the ministerial portfolios on 60:40 ratio. As per the understanding, UML is likely to get 10 ministries out of 17 while Maoist Center will take the rest. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has already inducted two ministers into his cabinet from UML.

Likewise, the meeting has also decided to appoint Bishnu Rimal, the CPN-UML politburo member to the post of Chief Political Advisor of Prime Minister Oli.

SURKHET, Feb 6: All the province-level ministries are to be established within a week in Province-6.

Chief Secretary at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, Suresh Pradhan, said that preparations were underway in order to set up all ministries before February 17 as a program has been scheduled to elect the Chief Minister before it.

He said that repair and maintenance works are underway for setting up other ministries as activities for the arrangement of Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers has already been completed.

Pradhan said works related to setting up the secretariats and other facilities of the province-level ministries was delayed in lack of human resources.

As per the federal structure, there would be seven ministries along with Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers in this province. They are the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, Ministry of Law and Internal Affairs, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, Social Development Ministry, Industry and Tourism Ministry, Forests and Environment Ministry, Land Management Ministry and Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. KATHMANDU, July 26: The Nepali Congress party has finally finalized the names of ministers from its party.

The NC, during a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence Wednesday afternoon, also has confirmed the ministries the new ministers will handle.

According to high placed prime ministerial sources, Nepali Congress lawmaker Mohan Basnet will take the responsibility of Information and Communication Ministry while Lawmaker Bhimsen Das Pradhan will be given the responsibility of Defense Ministry.

Similarly, Rajan KC will be handed Ministry of Youth and Sports, Yagya Thapa Law Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry, Sanjya Gautam Ministry of Irrigation and Ram Krishna Yadav will given Ministry of Agricultural Development.

Likewise, the ministry for the four ministers chosen by Prime Minister and NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba has also been fixed.

Lawmaker Bir Bahadur Balayar will be given Physical and Infrastructure Transportation Ministry, Water Supply and Sanitation Ministry to Mahendra yadav, Ministry of Commerce & Supplies to Min Bishwokarma, Ministry of Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation to Ambika Basnet.
