CHITWAN, JUNE 27: Transportation along the Narayangadh – Muglin route has resumed after a landslide at Kaalikhola blocked the road stretch at 7:30 am.

Inspector Santosh Pant of District Traffic Police Office, Chitwan, said the landslide struck the same location where an earlier landslide occurred on Friday morning.

At least four policemen were buried alive after a landslide swept their van at 1:05 am on Friday at the same area. Three police personnel have been confirmed dead while one is still missing. RSS

CHITWAN, June 26: The under construction Narayangadh–Muglin route will remain open round the clock to facilitate the voters heading to their respective destinations.

The local authorities had been closing down the perilous road stretch from 10 am to 4 pm on a daily basis for construction purpose. Multiple landslides along the route have resulted in deaths and traffic jams in the past week.

Many voters from three provinces are leaving for their destinations today to take part in the second phase of local polls.

Chief District Officer (CDO), Narayan Prasad Bhatta, said human resources and equipment are on standby to get to work immediately in the eventuality of a fresh landslide on the route. RSS
