POKHARA, Oct 31: Naya Shakti Party coordinator Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said his party decided to make an exit from the leftist alliance as he found the alliance was inheriting the ideology of an out-dated communist party instead the thoughts of a new socialist party.

At a press meet organized by Press Society Kaski on Tuesday, leader Bhattarai who chose to break away from the then UCPN (Maoist) said he saw no meaning of a communist party like that of the Stalin era and that’s why he proposed to constitute a new socialist political force.

It was just a rumor that the party decided to move away from the leftist alliance for not getting the Gorkha constituency no 2 and a total 15 seats in the upcoming elections, he said, calling the Naya Shakti a ‘fusion’ of leftist and democratic parties. RSS
