KATHMANDU, May 5: Nepal’s coronavirus cases reached 82 after seven more persons were tested positive on Tuesday.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, three males aged 22, 30 and 40 and four females aged 9, 32, 34, 55 from Nepalgunj-8 have tested positive during a test at Bheri Hospital.

“Their health condition is normal,” the ministry stated.

Nepalgunj is becoming the new hotspot with all 23 infections reported in the past five days, second behind Udayapur which has reported 28 cases. After its first case was detected on a tailor on May 1, the sub-metropolitan reported 15 new cases on May 3.

The District Administration Office Banke has enforced a curfew order in Nepalgunj for three days effective from today at 11:00 am.

Of the total 82 cases, 66 are still active. 106 are in isolation while more than 21,500 are in quarantine. No deaths have been reported so far.

Province 1 has reported 31 cases, Province 2 has 13 cases, Bagmati has seven cases, Gandaki has two cases, Province 5 has 24 and Sudurpaschim has confirmed five cases so far. Karnali has not reported a single case.

NEPALGUNJ, May 4: District Administration Office Banke has decided to impose a curfew in Nepalgunj after 15 cases of coronavirus were reported in a single day there on Sunday.

The curfew order will come into effect from 11:00 am tomorrow until May 7 midnight.

All the 15 cases had come in contact with the 60-year-old male from a mosque in the sub-metropolitan who was tested positive on May 1.

The health authorities had collected 90 swab samples and sent them for the test. Out of 60 samples, 15 had tested positive while the results of 30 samples are still awaited.

Earlier the Province 5 government had issued a high alert following the surge in the number of coronavirus cases.

Rupendahi has also reported one infection, making the total cases in the province 17.

KATHMANDU, NOV 22: Ncell Private Limited the largest private telecom company in Nepal has inaugurated a new center in Pushpa Lal Chowk- 2, Nepalgunj.

Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Adeel Israr inaugurated the center in line with the branding vision of the company, “today, tomorrow, together”.

The center aims to provide all customer services from a single touch-point.

Free 1 Gigabyte (GB) of internet data was given to new customers applying for. sim cards that will be valid for three days from the date of activation. The offer remains in place till the 23rd.

NEPALGUNJ, May 9: The Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City has forwarded construction task by prioritizing significant projects of development with an objective of developing Nepalgunj as the best model city.

Mayor Dr. Dhawal Shumsher Rana said, “We have kept construction of road, sewerage and dumping site at most of the part of the area in the priority in the first phase.”

Saying many activities of development construction are underway, he said collaboration among people’s representatives, employees and locals for development activities is very friendly.

Construction works of modern bus park on 4.5 bighas of land at Nepalgunj-4 have reached to final stage as well as more than half-dozen of projects including the construction of a modern multipurpose seven-storey building on eight kaththas of land at Nepalgunj-2, construction of a building of women college at the premises of Mangal Prasad Secondary School at Nepalgunj-8, among others are on the top priority.

Around Rs 80 million budget has been allocated for the construction of women college, which is going to be established to increase access of girl students from Muslim, Madhesi and marginalized communities to education, said Mayor Rana.

The Sub-Metropolitan City is going to bring ‘Landfill site’, constructed at Hiraminiya keeping city’s garbage management and cleanliness at high priority, into operation by mid-May, where 30 tons of garbage could be managed every day. NEPALGUNJ, July 14: Nepalgunj Sub Metropolitan City on Thursday made public an eight-point commitment letter for the city’s overall development and good governance.

The newly elected mayor Dr Dhawal Shumsher Rana made public the commitment letter promising to ban the disgusting work of cooking meat in the streets, distribution of 2000 dustbins for garbage management and immediate completion of the under construction road from Fultekra area to Puraini.

Rana also vowed to complete the construction of the degree block and students’ residential block at Mahendra Multiple Campus, management of the slaughterhouse, setting up mobile toilets and complaint box.

The sub metropolis will also be undertaking the expansion of the road from Purano Bazaar to Tribhuvan intersection in the next three months. RSS
