KATHMANDU: Nepali born Australian businessman Shesh Ghale has announced his candidacy for the Non Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA)’s Chairman in the upcoming International Conference of the NRNA.

Ghale announced his candidacy for Chairman of the NRNA organizing a news conference here Thursday.

On the occasion Ghale said that he would prioritize safe migration of Nepalis, registration of NRNA and especial efforts for knowledge and capital investment of NRNs in Nepal.

Incumbent General Secretary Tenzi Sherpa and members Hitman Tamang and Ram Pratap Thapa have already announced their candidacies for the same post.

The Nepali Association of Northern Carolina on Sunday urged political parties to ensure such a right for all the Non Residential Nepalese in the upcoming by organizing a press meet at the Reporters Club Nepal in Kathmandu.

Speakers at the meeting said that the Nepali government must ensure dual citizenship to NRNs like other nations have provided to their diasporas.

President of the organization Uttam Karki said that it was their compulsion to migrate overseas for seeking employments and urged the Nepali government to treat them as their nationals and not foreigners.

On the occasion, Reporters Club Nepal’s president Rishi Dhamala stressed on the need to take into confident all Nepalese residing abroad for the all-round development of the nation.

He said that the state should play positive role in responding to the concerns of Nepalese residing outside the nation.

Nepalese in S Korea assist Cancer patient in Nepal https://nepalireporter.com/2012/10/957 https://nepalireporter.com/2012/10/957#respond Sun, 21 Oct 2012 13:46:40 +0000 http://nepalireporter.com/?p=957 Seoul, South Korea: A group of Nepalese working here recently collected funds for a Nepali cancer victim in Nepal.  The Nepal Gorkha Parivar (NGP) collected a sum of 1 lakh, 25 thousand, and three hundreds for the treatment of Gorkha resident Purna Bahadur Magar.

Magar a resident of Bungkot-3, Gorkha was not able to treat his cancer due to shortage of financial resources and on knowing this president of  patient deprived of treatment, Treasurer of NGP Purna Bahadur Magar and other officials of the organisation had collected donations for Magar’s treatment.

Former advisors of the organisation   and Beni Jyoti Guvhaju handed down the amount to Magar during their recent visit to Nepal from South Korea.

The duo handed down the amount to Magar’s relative by personally visiting him at the Bharatpur Cancer Hospital in Chitwan.
