Shrestha received the ‘President’s Educational Award’ for attaining excellence in grade 8 at Lanier Middle School of Virginia state of USA.

The honor is given to the extraordinary students in school-level based on their educational standard, character and extracurricular activities.

Honoring him, the US President handed him a letter of honor and letter of congratulations with his signature, wishing a bright future for Shrestha. Born at Om Bahal in Kathmandu, he had also won the same honor in 2011.

USA: A Nepali Music School named as Premee Kala Kendra has been established in Fairfax City of Virginia near Washington DC of the USA.

Famous Nepali singer Prem Raja Mahat and Mira Rana took initiatives to establish the music school.

Nepali Ambassador to the USA Dr Shankar Prasad Sharma inaugurated the music school amidst a function.

On the occasion, Dr Sharma said that establishment of the music school has added new dimension to Nepali diaspora and DC metropolitan area.

He said many would be benefited by this school as the number of Nepalis in the USA was rising day by day.

Likewise, Mahat said that all genres of music including drama, music, dance and others would be included in the school.

SAN FRANCISCO: The Motherland Nepal has welcomed UML youth leader Rabindra Adhikari in San Francisco on Friday evening.

Currently, the UML youth leader is in the USA visit under US government’s IV program.

Adhikari, an MA in Management, said that people are yet to get benefit of democracy due to lack of economic reform though the country witnessed drastic political changes.

The program was organized at Himalayan Flavour Restaurant.

Chairman of Motherland Nepal Anil Pandey said that country’s future was in the hand of youth leaders.

A meeting of the Nepalis recently held in Pashupatinath Buddha Foundation of New England took a decision in this regard and gave a complete nod to the earlier formed ad hoc committee.

A 37-member working committee was formed under the chairmanship of chief of Greater Boston Nepali Community (GBNC) Milan Gurung. Bishnu Mani Acharya is the vice-chairman of the new working committee. The community to be build in 5,700 square feet consists of a parking lot, a multipurpose hall, a kitchen and two office rooms.

At the program, Nepalis living in Boston made their commitment to complete the task at any cost as it was an issue of nationality and respect to our religion and culture.
