Pokhara Rudra Bahadur Karki— NRN Founder President Dr. Upendra Mahato has requested entrepreneurs for investing in Nepal’s peace and prosperity without waiting for the suitable time.

While speaking at the program organized by FNCCI Chapter of Pokhara entitled the Program “Which Country is without Problems”, Mahato said that No good day will comes to us for investment if we wait for it. For this we have to invest in time. He shared his views that the condition of Russia in 1990 era when he started his investment was really bad than the Nepal.

He added that investment climate for Nepali investors might get ugly if big foreigner investors will active to launch their investments programs in Nepal. He said,” Foreigners are in look out for a proper time to invest in Nepal.” If they start investing in Nepal then it will be a hard time for Nepal’s middle class entrepreneurs. He claimed that “NRNs will be successful invest in the field of hydropower, tourism, education and agricultures.

Requesting to his business colleagues to develop the spirit of collective investment, Dr. Mahato said that the major tasks of developing physical infrastructures including road and electricity should be provided by the government of Nepal.

He insisted on developing the spirit of joint investment among Nepalese to make Nepal as prosperous nation and claimed middle class Nepalese should believe in each other for initiating huge development projects.

Praising the Natural beauty of Pokhara, Dr. Mahat urged Pokhara participants to start their own business. Pokhara has a maximum possibilities of development, he said.

KATHMANDU: The Qatar government has piled up pressure on the Nepali government to call back its ambassador Maya Kumari Sharma.

Qatar ambassador to Nepal, Ahmed Jasem Al Hamer on Friday formally requested Foreign and Home Minister Madhav Ghimire in writing to call back ambassador Sharma and to avoid affecting diplomatic ties between both nations.

Sharma was picked up for the post on the recommendations of the CPN Maoist, but ever since she assumed her office she has embroiled herself in various controversies.

Prior to this also, envoy Hamer has expressed dissatisfaction of his government but on Thursday he expressed the discontent in writing.

Terms between Sharma and the Qatari authorities soured after the former said that Qatar is an open jail for Nepali labors during an interview for Sajha Sawal, a radio program aired on BBC Nepali Service.

Qatari authorities had summoned Sharma and inquired about her statement and the BBC teams access to her in Qatar.

Authorities at the Foreign Ministry have informed that the dissatisfaction of the Qatar ambassador has piled up pressure on the Nepali government to take the call seriously so as to avert jeopardizing diplomatic ties between both nations, a report published in the Kantipur News Daily on Friday reported.

KATHMANDU: Malaysian authorities ruthlessly rounded up around 250 Nepalese migrant workers as part of its crackdown on illegal migrant workers.

Though the camppaign aims at clearing the nation of illegal migrant workers, Nepalese workers there reported that the authorities detained them without even giving them a chance to produce their papers.

Confirming the crackdown, Deputy Director at the Enforcement Division of the Department of Immigration (Malaysia) M Saravana Kumar said that the exact number of Nepalese and how many of them were illegal could be told only after dealing with the detained individually, The Himalayan Times reported on Tuesday.

Most of these Nepalese were reported to be detained from Kuala Lumpur, Klang Valley and Johor, Saravana informed.

If found living illegaly in Malaysia, the worker might be deported, imprisoned or fined, Saravana was quoted by saying adding that all of the detained will be produced before a public prosecutor.

Malaysia is working home for more than 4 lakh Nepalese. More than four lakh Nepalis are employed in Malaysia.

These immigrant workers had left working in their respective company demanding healthy food and payment and were forced to seek assylum in the embassy when local security forces attempted to detain them.

These workers had gone on strike since Saturday and even though the administration of the company had called them for talks, the talks were derailed after the five Nepalese negotiators were detained by the police.

These workers include some with no identity cards and immigration papers, some of them have been living their without any payment for the past six months, and some with undiagnosed ailments.

KATHMANDU: Nepali born Australian businessman Shesh Ghale has announced his candidacy for the Non Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA)’s Chairman in the upcoming International Conference of the NRNA.

Ghale announced his candidacy for Chairman of the NRNA organizing a news conference here Thursday.

On the occasion Ghale said that he would prioritize safe migration of Nepalis, registration of NRNA and especial efforts for knowledge and capital investment of NRNs in Nepal.

Incumbent General Secretary Tenzi Sherpa and members Hitman Tamang and Ram Pratap Thapa have already announced their candidacies for the same post.

KATHMANDU: Incumbent Secretary of Non Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) TB Karki has announced his candidacy for the post of Vice-chair of the NRNA’s upcoming General Convention.

The NRNA’s world conference is schedule to hold from October 19 to 22 in Kathmandu.

Announcing his candidacy, Karki has also unveiled a 17-point charter of his commitments pledging to make the NRNA further stronger, efficient and enhance institutional development.

Karki has pledged to pitch for establishing the Nepali Embassy or Office of the General Consular in the countries having more than 10,000 Nepalis.

KATHMANDU: A Japanese court has ordered the government to compensate Govind Prasad Mainali with 68 million yen. The Tokyo District Court had directed the government to provide the sum ( around 792,000 US $) as compensation for the 15 years of imprisonment that Mainali had to serve for a murder that he had not committed.

he Japanese government has already Tokyo District Court directed the Japanese government to compensate 68 million yen (approx. $792,000) to Mainali.

Mainali was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for the rape and murder of a Japanese women in 1997. However he was acquitted by the Tokyo High Court on June 7, 2012, following a retrial.
