PALPA, Dec 10: CPN-UML’s Som Prasad Pandey representing the left alliance won a parliamentary seat from Palpa-2. He garnered 34,899 votes, while his closest contender Nepali Congress’s Hari Prasad Nepal 24,554 votes.

Likewise, UML’s Dr Puran Bajracharya claimed Palpa 2 ‘A’ Provincial Assembly seat by defeating his nearest rival NC’s Madhav Nepal.

Bajracharya received 18,042 votes, while Nepal 4,572 votes. CPN (Maoist Center)’s Tularam Gharti representing the left alliance won Palpa 2 ‘B’ Provincial Assembly seat. He secured 16,422 votes, while his nearest rival NC’s Ram Karki 11,496 votes.

Similarly, in Palpa-1 ‘B’, CPN-UML’s Narayan Acharya representing the left alliance secured victory. He got 14,466 votes, while his nearest rival Nepali Congress’s Dan Bahadur Pachhai 10,501 votes. RSS

PALPA, Oct 12: A total of 181,246 voters are eligible to cast their votes in Palpa in upcoming election to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies to be held on November 26 and December 7, 2017.

Among the voters, 94,829 are women, 86416 men and one third gender in the district, shared Information at Election Office, Thaman Saru.
Total 162,255 voters had registered their names in the roll in last local elections.
