KATHMANDU, Dec 22: The Restaurant and Bar Association Pokhara is hosting the 21st street festival in the tourism city from December 28 to January 1.

The festival with the slogan “Let’s eat and enjoy in the street” will take place in three kilometers area surrounding the Lakeside, according to the organizers.

The organizers said that the street festival will contribute to the Nepal government’s target to bring 2 million tourists to Nepal during the Visit Nepal Year 2020. The government is also set to inaugurate the tourism year in the new year from the Dasharath Stadium.

The major attractions of the street festival will be national and international cultural programs, sale of food items of national and international varieties, entertaining games, pie chart exhibition of adventure tourism sports, exhibition of handicrafts, music concerts from Raju Lama, Sabin Rai, Karma band, Avay and the steam rock band, Lahure, Anuprastha and local bands, Lok Dohari from famous artists, comedy shows and so on.

Over 2000 stalls of nine different kinds will be in the street.

POKHARA, Oct 4: A bus plunged 60 feet downhill from Trishuli in Begnas Pokhara metropolitan 31. The bus that was coming from Begnas to Pokhara numbered Ga 1 Kha 4771 swerved off the road plunging downhill almost 60 feet.

The local police station head Mohan Khand stated that 30 passengers have been wounded and they have been brought to Pokhara for treatment in various hospitals. They are further investigating the case.

LAMJUNG, Nov 5: The 11th edition of Yak Attack 2017, an international mountain bike race, started today from Bensishahar. It is the highest mountain bike race in the world.

A total of 31 competitors from various 10 countries including Nepal are competing in the race that will go through Thorong-La Pass, Muktinath, and Jomsom before concluding in Pokhara. The competition will run for 10 days.

Of the participants, eight Nepalis (one woman and seven men) are competing. The winner will pocket 1250 US dollars, while the first runner up USD 750, and second runner up USD 500. The competition is held every year in the Annapurna Circuit, the world’s famous trekking trail. RSS

POKHARA, July 7: The District Traffic Police Office, Kaski has made public a one month schedule under the ‘no horn zone’ to be launched in the Lakeside from July 16.

The information was provided at a press conference held by the Traffic Office today.

Under this plan, boards reading ‘no horn’ would be put up at various places in the city and other awareness programS be conducted.

Training would be provided for drivers, information pamphlets be distributed and other awareness programs including on zebra crossing and road accident and safety. RSS
