KATHMANDU, Aug 13: Personal Secretariat of Nepal Communist Party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has refuted the rumors that his deceased son Prakash Dahal has billions of rupees in his name in a bank in Dubai.

Issuing a press release on Tuesday, Dahal’s personal secretary Jokh Bahadur Mahara claimed the reports are false and fabricated and challenged to prove there is any money in foreign banks.

Chair Dahal had recently been to Dubai in a family visit with his spouse Sita Dahal and two daughters Renu and Ganga. However, the purpose of his visit was exaggerated and falsified by some “ill-intended people” spreading rumors that “there is Rs 21 billion in the name of his deceased son and Chair Dahal had gone to Dubai to manage that account.”

“The Secretariat refutes and condemns such false rumors. These rumors are only aimed at damaging the reputation of the country’s leadership” the press release reads.

“We challenge to prove there is Rs 21 billion his Chair Dahal’s deceased son’s name.”

“We also demand action against the individuals involved in spreading such conspiratorial and false publicity.”

KATHAMANDU, Nov 20: President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal have expressed condolence over the untimely demise of Prakash Dahal, son of CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

President Bhandari reached Dahal’s private residence Lazimpat to extend condolences to the bereaved families on Monday, said President Bhandari’s media expert Madhav Sharma.

Similarly, PM Deuba also reached Dahal’s residence Lazimpat and extended condolence to the bereaved families, said PM’s press coordinator Govinda Pariyar.

According to UML chair Oli’s press coordinator Chetan Adhikari, chair Oli, leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal, Bishnu Rimal, Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal among others also extended condolence to the bereaved families reaching Lazimpat today itself.  Prakash, 36, died of cardiac arrest on Sunday morning.

On the occasion, President Bhandari, PM Deuba, former Prime Ministers duo Oli and Nepal among others had paid floral tribute on late Dahal’s photograph kept there for those wishing to pay their last respect.

Deuba and Oli arrived in Kathmandu on Monday from their election campaign. The NC President Deuba busy addressing election gatherings in his home district Dadeldhura while Oli was in Jhapa.

KATHMANDU, Nov 19: The mortal remains of Prakash Dahal, son of CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal was cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat in Kathmandu on Sunday.

Prakash Dahal passed away today morning because of cardiac arrest. His father Pushpa Kamal Dahal lit funeral pyre on his body.

Members of Dahal’s family, leaders of various political parties, and thousand of well wishers gathered at Pashupatinath to pay final respect to Prakash Dahal.

The team reached CPN-MC headquarters Perisdanda to convey heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families on the behalf of President Bhandari. The team extended the condolences to Dahal’s father and CPN-MC chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

The President’s advisory team also paid last tributes to the mortal remains of late Dahal kept there for those wishing to pay their last respect.

In a statement issued here today, the party has expressed sadness over the incident and has extended condolences to the bereaved families. Earlier, party chair Kamal Thapa had expressed his sorrow over the incident via twitter.

PRAKASH DIED THREE HOURS BEFORE BEING BROUGHT TO HOSPITAL

KATHMANDU, Nov 19: Norvic International Hospital, organizing a press conference, said that Prakash Dahal died of a sudden cardiac arrest.

According to Dr JP Jaiswal, Prakash had died three hours before he was brought to hospital. Prakash was brought to the hospital at 5:50 AM today. He was pronounced dead at 5: 59 am.

“When he was brought to the hospital, his body was cold and had stiffened. There was no pulse,” said Jaiswal.

His body will be kept at Paris Dada for last homage. His body will be cremated at Aryaghat, Pashupatinath at 4:00 pm today.

Meanwhile, his father Pushpa Kamal Dahal has also arrived at the hospital.

CHITWAN, Nov 19: The locals of Chitwan Constituency-3 have been saddened by the untimely demise of Prakash Dahal, son of the former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. CPN (Maoist Center) chair Dahal is contesting for a seat to the House of Representatives from the constituency.

Following the death of Prakash Dahal, all the election programs to be launched by left alliance in the constituency for today have been postponed. Prakash Dahal was also a central committee member of the party and was the personal aide of chair Dahal.

Meanwhile, Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Bikram Pandey, who is contesting the polls from the same constituency, has expressed sorrow over the demise of Dahal and has informed that all the elections programmes from his side were also postponed for today. Prakash Dahal was busy in the election campaigning in Chitwan since the past few days ago.

KATHMANDU, Nov 19: Prakash Dahal, the son of CPN (Maoist Center) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has passed away this morning due to cardiac arrest.

He was brought to the Norvic Hospital at Thapathali in an unconscious state at 4 am today and he died shortly after that, according to a hospital source.

Maoist Center leaders and cadres as well as journalists in large numbers have gathered at the hospital premises soon after the sad news of Prakash’s passing away spread.

Dahal, who went to bed after taking jaulo, plain, soft and wholesome cooked rice given to sick people, on Saturday evening after feeling slightly ill, suffered a heart attack at night, according to family sources.

The hospital is preparing to hold a press conference to make an official announcement. Chairman Dahal is on his way to Kathmandu from Birtamod, Jhapa on a helicopter. He was set to address a  political conference to be held in Birat Chowk, Morang on Sunday.
