BEIJING, April 28: President Bidya Devi Bhandari, who is currently on the State Visit to China, has urged the Chinese investors to invest in Nepal.

During a meeting with the Chairman of Economic Joint Committee under the Chinese Commercial Stock Enterprises and the senior officials of China-Nepal Economic and Trade Forum on Sunday.

On the occasion, President Bhandari thanked the Chinese officials for organizing the meeting of China-Nepal Economic and Trade Forum and reminded that Nepal had a stable government and created a favorable atmosphere for investment.

Investment is imperative for Nepal’s development, she underscored.

The meeting will discuss trade, bilateral assistance and investment. The meeting was also attended by Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Chief Minister of State-3, Dormani Poudel, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Nepali Ambassador to China and high-level officials from Nepal government and representatives from private sectors. KATHMANDU, April 24: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has left for a nine-day state visit to the People’s Republic of China on Wednesday at the invitation of her Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping.

Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Chairperson of National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, Ishwor Pokharel and Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa bade farewell to President Bhandari at VVIP lounge of the Tribhuvan International Airport.

President Bhandari will participate in the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation taking place in Beijing. Similarly, President Bhandari is scheduled to address the Second Belt and Road Forum, according to the Foreign Ministry. Delegation-level bilateral talks would be held between President Bhandari and her Chinese counterpart during the visit, which will be followed by a signing ceremony. The President also will hold separate meetings with senior Chinese leaders, according to the Foreign Ministry President Bhandari would visit Xi’an, the capital city of Shaanxi Province, on her way to Beijing. She would also visit Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet Autonomous Region of China, on her way back home. In both places, she will meet provincial leaders.

President Bhandari is accompanied by Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, State-3 Chief Minister Dormani Poudel, members of Federal Parliament, high-officials of the government of Nepal, Nepali Ambassador to China, representatives from the private sector and media persons. KATHMANDU, April 19: President Bidya Devi Bhandari will pay a state visit to China on April 24 at the invitation of her counterpart Xi Jinping, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

President Bhandari is scheduled to attend the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation to be held in Beijing and address the Forum. She will also attend the banquet hosted by Chinese President Jinping. She will then attend the opening ceremony of International Horticultural Exhibition and visit Nepali pavilion there, stated the ministry in a press release on Friday.

The forum, themed “Belt and Road Cooperation, Shaping a Brighter Shared Future”, will be held from April 24 to 27. The forum will be attended a total of 37 heads of state or government and other leaders from Austria, Egypt, Italy and Laos. France, Germany, the UK, Spain, Japan, South Korea and the EU will send high-level representatives to the forum.

Prez Bhandari will also attend the reception hosted by the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing.

On her way to Beijing, Bhandari will visit Xian, the capital of Shaanxi Province. She will also visit Lhasa, the capital of Tibet on her way back—where she will pay visit to the provincial leaders, according to the ministry.

President Bhandari is expected to sign at least half a dozen of agreements during the visit.

Bhandari will be accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Chief Minister of Province 3 Dor Mani Paudel, members of federal parliament, high-ranking government officials, Ambassador of Nepal to China Lila Mani Paudel and representatives of private sector and media persons.

She will return home on May 2.
