DHANGADHI, Sept 15: A main celebration committee has been formed to mark the Constitution Day in province 7. Province Chief Minister is the coordinator of the committee which will make arrangements for celebrating the Day for three days–September 18-20– by organizing various programs.

According to Secretary at the Office of Council of Ministers in province, Pradeep Raj Kandel, a deepawali, blood donation, radio programs on the theme of constitution, and sanitation and cultural rally are some events of the celebration.

The province chief is scheduled to host a reception on September 19, the main celebration day. It may be noted that Asoj 3 every year in the Nepali calendar is celebrated as the Constitution Day in commemoration of the promulgation of the constitution through the historic Constituent Assembly on September 20 in 2015. This year, the Day falls on September 19. RSS

BAITADI, Aug 12: Local people and political leaders have suggested naming Province 7 Dasharath Chand which goes after martyr Dasharath Chand.

The proposal was made at the 24th anniversary of Martyr Dasharath Chand Memorial Trust in the district on Saturday, attended by local people and various local political leaders.

The suggestion responds to the parliamentary committee of the province seeking suggestion to determine name and permanent location for its capital. The committee extended the August 6 deadline by a week in this regard.

The Trust also decided to urge Province Assembly members to translate their proposal into action.

Addressing the function, President of the Trust Chatur Bahadur Chand viewed that the province be named Dasharath Chand in honor of martyr Dasharath Chand who had dreamt of establishing a democratic republic.

Dasharath Chand is country’s martyr and it will be relevant to name the province after his name, said Mayor of Dasharath Chand Municipality Narendra Singh Thapa, another participant. RSS

DHANGADHI, June 25: Increasing heat in Kailali and Kanchanpur, districts in province 7, has adversely affected normal life. Children, aged and working class people have been additionally affected by the adverse weather condition.

The number of patients visiting health facilities with complaints of breathing difficulties, fever, headache, and nausea and vomiting has significantly increased.

People are forced to stay indoors to avoid hotter days and some have started going for outing up to Budhitola of Chure hill and Khani hill, relatively cooler areas, to avoid the unbearable heat.

The district has witnessed none of the monsoon rain and this has made farmers waiting for a favorable atmosphere for water-fed rice transplantation sad. Implications of dryness resulted in from lack of precipitations have started seen on agriculture.

‘There was a brief rain accompanied by windstorm here three days ago,’ said farmer Hari Chaudhary.

Maximum temperature here has reached 41 degree Celsius.

DHANGADHI, March 7: The Province 7 government is preparing to introduce a short-term budget only some months before the current fiscal ends.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs has said it was introducing the provisional budget as the works of the province ministries were affected due to the lack of consolidated fund after the formation of the province government.

It is stated that agriculture and productive sectors would be accorded high priority in the provisional budget. The budget would be of one billion 205 million.

The Ministry has already instructed the related officials in the ministry to work out the provisional budget. Apart from the agriculture and production sectors, the budget will also prioritize education and health, the provincial minister for Economic Affairs, Jhapat Bohara said. RSS

DHANGADHI, Feb 5: The State Assembly Secretariat in Province 7 on Monday has published the schedule of election of a speaker.

As per the schedule agreed on by the first meeting of State Assembly on Sunday, the election will start at 1:00 pm on February 12.

The registration of candidacy (ies) will take place from 2:00 to 5:00 pm on February 10 and the name list of candidate(s) will be published at 5:30 pm on the same day. The time for opposing candidature (s) has been fixed from 10:00 am -12:00 noon on February 11 and scrutiny of nominations will be carried out from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm same day before issuing the revised name list.

The time for withdrawal of candidature(s) will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and the final name list will be published at 5:00 pm a day before the election, according to Secretariat joint secretary Murari Mahat.

The left alliance has a majority in Province 7 that comprises nine districts in the far-western region. As per the power sharing agreement reached between CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN-UML, the chief minister will be from Maoist Center while the post of a speaker will be held by the UML in Province 7.

It may be noted that Maoist Center province committee meeting few days ago proposed the name of party’s State Assembly member from Doti, Trilochan Bhatta, as a Chief Minister in Province 7.

In the 53-member State Assembly in this province, 25 seats are held by UML, 14 by Maoist Center, 14 by the Nepali Congress and two by the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal.

KAILALI, May 20: Voters education has resumed in all nine districts of Province No 7 since Friday since it was stopped after the local poll was scheduled to be held for two phases. And election in this province is being held in the second phase on coming June 21.

Information officer at the Regional Election Office, Prem Bhatta shared that the voters education programme was launched in one sub-metropolis, 33 municipalities and 54 rural municipalities in Province No 7.

There are 1,300,714 voters in the province. The Office of the chief returning officer has also begun its regular business from today in view of the local polls. RSS
