BARDIYA, Dec 10: CPN-UML Vice-chairman and former Home Minster Bamdev Gautam has been defeated in the Federal Parliament elections in Bardiya constituency-2. Gautam was defeated by Nepali Congress candidate Sanjaya Gautam who received 44,834 votes while Bamdev got 44,076 votes.

KATHMANDU, July 27: Newly appointed Minister for Irrigation Sanjaya Gautam has said the the development projects of national pride will be completed on time.

Assuming his office at the Ministry on Wednesday, he said agriculture production should be increased in order to increase employment opportunities in the country, and irrigation was inevitable for it.

Currently the chair of Nepali Congress Bardia, Minister Gautam was elected to the second constituent assembly from constituency no. 2 in Bardia. RSS
