KATHMANDU, April 22: A Dornier 288 Tara Air aircraft 9N-AKK slid off the runaway and landed at a lawn while trying to land at Manthali Airport in Ramechhap on Monday morning.

No serious damage to the aircraft, and passengers and crew members onboard the place has been reported. According to reports, a flat tire caused the aircraft to veer just a notch off the runway. A minor problem on the nose landing gear occurred.

“There has been a runway excursion at Ramechhap airport involving our Dornier Do228 aircraft. All passengers and crew are safe. We are working with CAA of Nepal and Ramechhap airport authorities to remove the aircraft from the runway,” tweeted Yeti Airlines, a parent company of Tara Air.

There were 14 passengers onboard the plane.

The aircraft had arrived in the district headquarters from Solukhumbhu.

KATHMANDU, Nov 28: A twin otter aircraft of Tara Air lost balance in the runway at Simkot Airport in Humla while taking off and crashed injuring four crew members on Tuesday morning. No casualties were reported in the accident.

The flight 9N-ABM was heading to Surkhet. Thirteen police personnel along the crew were on board the plane. The police personnel were returning to Surkhet after completing their duty for the elections (federal and provincial).

Simkot Airport administration reported that the plane’s captain Basanta Lama and Anup Gurung, hostess Shreya Shrestha and sub-inspector Yamlal Dahal sustained injuries. They have been taken to the district hospital for treatment.
