KATHMANDU, Aug 17: Vice-Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yang, returned home today after wrapping up his four-day official visit to Nepal. He left for Beijing on a special aircraft.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Krishna Bahadur Mahara was at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) to see off the special guest from the neighbor country China.

Likewise, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Jitendra Narayan Dev, Nepal’s Ambassador to China, Leelamani Poudyal, Secretary at the Foreign Ministry Shanker Das Bairagi, China’s Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong and senior officials from the Chinese Embassy here had reached TIA to bid farewell to the Chinese Vice-Premier.

During his stay in Nepal, Wang had separately called on President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN ( Maoist Center) chair and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN (UML) chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Likewise, he had held bilateral talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Bijay Kumar Gachhadar and his delegation and inaugurated the renovation of the Hanumandhoka Durbar Square-based historic Nautale Durbar (nine-store palace).

The renovation is taking place with the financial assistance from the Government of China. RSS

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Visiting Vice-Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yang, has promised full support from the Chinese government to the development and promotion of Ayurved in Nepal.

During his visit to the Kirtipur-based National Ayurveda Research and Training Center on Wednesday, the Chinese Vice- Premier pledged to cooperate with Nepal to carry out further research in the sector of Ayurved.
Health Secretary Kiran Regmi said the government had planned to establish an Ayurved Hospital in every province in future, urging the Chinese side for help to this end.

Though Nepal is rich in medicinal plants and herbs, lack of skills and knowledge about their proper use has deprived Nepalis of reaping maximum benefits, the Health Minister said, adding that the government was establishing herbs processing center equipped with high technology and a digitalized library for the promotion of Ayurved.

Centre Executive Director Dr Siddhartha Kumar Thakur apprised the delegation that conducting in-depth research in the Ayurved sector was the objective of the center.

The Government of China had constructed a building for the center at a cost of Rs 680 million in 2009 and handed it to the Nepal Government in 2011.

Furthermore, the centre received medical equipments worth Rs 240 million from the northern neighbor.

Surgery, gynaecology, maternity, cancer treatment, acupuncture, radiology and pathology services are available in the centre. It is preparing to launch the other distinct Ayurveda services likes Panchakarma, Chharsutra Sewa, Kaumar Bhritya, Yoga, physiotherapy, x-ray, CT Scan and telemedicine facilities in near future . KATHMANDU, Aug 15: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Krishna Bahadur Mahara and the visiting Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yang, jointly inaugurated the reconstruction project of the palace amidst a function on Tuesday.

The reconstruction effort was undertaken with economic and technical support from the Chinese government.

The reconstruction of the historic nine-storey palace at the Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square – a world heritage site – has been launched two years after the massive earthquake inflicted considerable damages on its structure.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Jitendra Narayan Dev, said the reconstruction of the historic nine – storey palace at Basantapur and seven – storey palace in Nuwakot was being undertaken by the Chinese government.

On the occasion, China’s Deputy Minister of Commerce and Deputy International Trade Representative expressed joy at the opportunity to reconstruct the historic heritages.

The Chinese government will complete the reconstruction of the nine-storey palace in five years at a cost of Rs 150 million, Archaeology Department’s Director General Bhesh Narayan Dahal said.

He added that an agreement had been reached to undertake the reconstruction of the Aagan Chen at Hanumandhoka Durbar Square and the Degu Taleju temple at Patan Durbar Square with support of the Japanese government.
