KATHMANDU, June 12: Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Gokarna Raj Bista Tuesday said that Nepal will be rid of child labor in the next seven years.

“Nepal has prepared ‘National Master Plan on the Elimination of Child Labor’ with the aim to end child labor by 2082 B.S. The Master Plan will get approved in some days” he said addressing a morning procession organized on the occasion of World Day against Child Labor, 2018 jointly by the Ministry and various non-governmental organizations.

Saying the government is committed to ensuring the rights of children to education and healthy lifestyle, he said all stakeholders, communities, civil society, non-governmental and governmental organizations should join hands to eliminate child labor. RSS

KATHMANDU, June 12: A rally was held on the occasion of the 16th World Day Against Child Labor here in the capital city on Sunday.

The rally – organized by the Department of Labor – started from Tinkune and went through Naya Baneshwor and Thapa Gaun before converging into a corner meeting at Maitighar Mandala.

Under the theme ‘In Conflicts and Disasters, Protect Children from Child Labour’, the participants in the rally held placards with slogans ‘End Child Labour’, ‘Love Children’ and ‘Children are future’s legacy’.

On the occasion, Department’s Director General, Bhuwan Acharya, said everyone must make effort from their houses to end child labour. RSS
