Tarai issues to be resolved soon: NC leader Poudel



Kathmandu, Jan 11: Nepali Congress Vice-President Ramchandra Poudel has said that the problems surfaced in the Tarai would be resolved soon.

While receiving a memorandum submitted by the Reporter’s Club here today, leader Poudel said that the problems seen in Tarai would be resolved soon on the basis of constitution amendment bill tabled in the parliament for the same.
He added that the issues related to inclusiveness, proportional representation among others would be resolved through the constitution amendment process.

In another context, he added that the step of increasing the number of the Ministries was wrong. Leader Poudel who recently returned home from neighbouring India said that the India had the wishes for resolving the issues through talks.

Leader Poudel further claimed that the power sharing practices inside the party would be ended from upcoming national convention of the party.

He said that he would file candidacy to the post of the party President as party cadres were expecting the same. He further informed that he had the support of the party President Sushil Koirala for his candidacy as well.

The NC vice-president opined for amending the party statute on the basis of federal modality as the country already adopted federalism.
