Tough competition at the Trade Union Congress vote counting



CHITWAN: Khila Nath Dahal has been leading by 42 votes to his competitor for the Chairman of the Nepal Trade Union Congress (Independent).

As much as 1,000 votes out of 1,561 votes cast in the election held for Trade Union Congress have been counted so far, said Yogendra Adhikari, Election Officer.

The Fifth General Convention of the Trade Union Congress affiliated to the Nepali Congress has been organised in Ratnagar Municipality, Chitwan.

Similarly, senior Vice-president, Ramji Kunwar received 381, Krishna Prasad Paudel 324, while Rama Paudel, has been leading another contestant Bishnu Devi Panday for women vice-chairperson with a large difference. Paudel received 462 while Pandey got 272.

Dahal panel is backed by NC senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and another contestant for Chairman Puskar Acharya is backed by NC President Sushil Koirala.The vote count has been started since late evening on Tuesday.
