UML calls for making PM’s upcoming China visit fruitful



Kathmandu, March 13: The major ruling party CPN (UML) has called for making Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s upcoming visit to China productive.

A meeting of the UML Standing Committee held this morning at the Prime Minister’s official residence Baluwatar suggested that the PM’s visit to the northern neighbour should be focused on further consolidating the bilateral ties between,according to party Spokesperson Yogesh Bhattarai.
Prime Minister Oli is embarking on China visit on March 20.
The meeting urged the Prime Minister to take up the matters of setting up of fuel storage centers at Khairenitar of Nuwakot and Panchkhal of Kavre with the Chinese side during his visit.
Besides, the Chinese side should be apprised of the progress over the implementation of Chinese-funded development projects in the country, the meeting stressed.
The meeting demanded that recommendations made by the Judicial Council for the appointment of judges at the Supreme Court should not be dragged into controversy, arguing the recommendation was constitutional.
