‘UML-Maoist Center unification will be based on mutual respect and equality’

KATHMANDU, April 22: Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli said that the unification between the UML and CPN (Maoist Center) will be based on mutual respect and equality.

Speaking at a function organized to mark the 148th birth anniversary of Vladimir Lenin and 69th founding day of Communist Party of Nepal in the capital on Sunday, he said there is no reason for the unification to not take place, it will happen in the near future.

“We will not step back (from the unification) but will not make any more mistakes and move in a new way ahead”, he said.

Stating that the unification between the two parties is taking place in order to build a society based on social justice and equality, he said there is already an agreement in place for the unification in terms of a policy.

On the occasion, Maoist Center Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal reiterated that the both chairs had agreed to forward the unification process based on equality, justice and mutual respect.

He shared that they were working to finalize the unification process by preparing a justified model. He further stressed on understanding the sensibility of leaders on a reciprocity basis.

The process will be forwarded respecting collective sentiments and even to strengthen the national unity and nationalism. He also committed to finalizing the unification process adding that the some forces were taking benefit on the split of communist parties in the past but they will not permit them forever.

Chair Dahal, also former Prime Minister, opined for leading the nation on the way to prosperity. He said that strong communist force was essential to continue the political change and social transformation and the unification will contribute in the same direction.
