Fire guts Chepang houses in central Nepal

KATHMANDU: Two houses in remote Chepang Community at Siddhi VDC in Chitwan district were gutted in fire. Property worth Rs.700,000 of local Dhan Bahadur Chepang and Dal Bahadur Chepang was gutted on Thursday, according to District Police Office, Chitwan.
The inferno swallowed Rs. 52,000, in cash, 45 muris of paddy, five quintals of maize and some cattle, said police.The security personnel and local people jointly worked to bring the fire under control.

The District Administration Office had provided the relief support of Rs. 5,000 to each of the fire victims, said Assistant Chief District Officer Shivaram Gelal.

The houses caught fire at a time when a team had reached the village to provide mobile government services for two days here. RSS
