Oli and Basnet appreciate President’s call

CPN UML K P Oli

KATHMANDU:  CPN-UML leader KP Sharma Oli has said that the step President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has taken for formation of national consensus government was laudable. Now, Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai must abandon Baluwatar, he argued.

Inaugurating the 8th Statute Conference of the Youth Association, party’s sister wing, in the capital on Friday, leader Oli said the insistence of PM Bhattarai to stick to power was childish. Present PM can not appoint any minister and administer him oath of office, he argued.

He further said the Youth Association needs to intensify pressure programmes to give a political outlet to the country.

On the occasion, Association Chairman Mahesh Basnet said it was present need to form a consensus government to hold election. So, the PM must resign, he demanded.

He wondered why the government did not create conducive atmosphere to utilizing remittance in the productive sector. Almost 85 per cent remittance is being used in the unproductive sectors, he added.

Party Secretary Shankar Pokhrel, Valley In-Charge Krishna Gopal Shrestha, politburo member Pashupati Chaulagain and other expressed their views at the programme.

As many as 513 representatives from across the country are taking part in the two-day conference. RSS
