Tibetan immolates in Bouddha

KATHMANDU: A Tibetan in monk’s robes immolated himself in Bouddha on Wednesday.

Witnesses said a man dressed as a monk entered the Golden Eye Cafe in Boudhanath and asked to use the bathroom. After spending some time there, he went onto the street and lit himself on fire. He ran a few steps, covered in flames, before collapsing in front of the Bouddha Stupa.

Police officials said police and residents put out the flames. Identity of the Tibetan has not been ascertained yet. According to Police, the burnt Tibetan youth has been rushed to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.
