China proposes Wu as new envoy to Nepal



KATHMANDU: China has proposed We Chuntai, Deputy Director General of the Department of External Security Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the envoy to Nepal after calling back its ambassador Yang Houlan.

Incumbent Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Houlan is leaving for China before expiring his three-year term.

President Dr Ram Baran Yadav would approve the new name after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs tables the Chinese name.

Ambassador Wu has already served in Turkey, UK and Northern Ireland in London. He has already served as the first secretary of the diplomatic mission in Hong Kong besides in north Asian and American departments of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
