Elections in June at any cost, Prachanda says
DHADING: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Prachanda has said that CA elections by mid-November are also not possible if CA elections were not conducted by June as per the political agreement.
Addressing a mass meeting organized by the party’s Tamsaling State Committee at Dharke in Dhading district on Saturday, Prachanda said the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) were hatching conspiracies to foil the CA polls as both the parties were sure to suffer a heavy loss in the elections.
The former Prime Minister also claimed that a large number of party cadres from the NC and UML were joining the Maoist just ahead of the polls date.
“CA elections date in November is unacceptable for us if elections are not held in June as per the earlier agreement,” he put rider.
UCPN (Maoist) Vice-chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai, general secretary Posta Bahadur Bogati, senior leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara and leader Barsha Man Pun, among other leaders addressed the mass meeting urging the cadres and people to be ready for elections at anytime sooner.
