Massive fire breaks out in Thamel



KATHMANDU: A massive fire broke out in Thamel, the tourist hub in the capital city, destroying five houses. The fire was started late Thursday night from a house behind the Shisha Terrace Cafe and Bar.

No human casualty has been reported so far, police confirmed. Police have estimated that a short circuit caused the fire.   

Fire fighters from all three districts of valley, police personnel and locals brought the fire under control after nine hours. 

Similarly, most of the books of the Pilgrim Books House were gutted to cinder.

 

The police have been collecting information about the damage fire caused though the preliminary report suggests that property worth 20 millions gutted in the fire.
