ILAM: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prchanda has said that his party would accept the government decision regarding the minimum threshold in the upcoming CA election if the government so decides.

Earlier, a meeting of the high-level political committee had entrusted the responsibility to the government to finalize electoral laws.

At a press meet in Ilam this morning organized by the Revolutionary Journalist Association, Prachanda said political understanding among the major parties was needed to ensure CA election in November.

He also ruled out the possibilities of party unification with CPN-Maoist but didnot discard the poll alliance with the UCPN (Maoist) breakaway. “Poll alliance is possible with CPN-Maoist though party unification is not likely for now,” he said.

On the occasion, Prachanda also said that the erstwhile CA failed to promulgate the constitution due to reluctance of the then CA Chairman Subash Chandra Nembang. Nembang is was elected from Ilam in the last CA election.

Prachanda is addressing a mass meeting in Phidim, Panchthar, to be organized by the Limbuwan Mukti Morcha on its fifth national convention.
