Separate road accidents kill 3, injures dozens in Terai region
CHITWAN: At least three persons died and over 35 were injured in separate road accidents in Chitwan and Siraha on Saturday.
Chitwan Police said that Dambar Kumari Thapa of Darechowk VDC and Hari Prasad Subedi of Jagatpur VDC of Chitwan died after a mini truck met with an accident near Mugling this morning.
Police said that condition of six passengers, out of 12 injured in the incident, is critical. The seriously injured have been rushed to Bharatpur for further treatment, it is said.
The accident took place after the mini-truck (Na 3 Kha 3004) heading for Mugling from Tamin, a rural area near Mugling, fell some 150 down the road after the brake failure.
Police have arrested the truck driver.
Likewise, 13 persons were injured after a bus (Na 3 Kha 6460) met with an accident at Tikauli of Chitwan district today.
According to the police, the injured passengers are receiving treatment at former Medical College, Chitwan.
Meanwhile, a person died when a tipper (Na 3 Kha 6668) heading for Mirchaiya of Siraha from Udayapur district knocked him down this morning.
Kumar Pulami Magar (24) of Phulbariya VDC-7 died in the incident, Area Police Office, Mirchaiya said.
