NC gets Former Finance Secretary Khanal on board, as its electoral candidate for Palpa
KATHMANDU: Former Finance Secretary Rameshwor Khanal has joined Nepali Congress on Monday amid a special program at the party office in Sanepa, Lalitpur.
Party president Sushil Koirala provided Khanal general membership of the party to Khanal. He was brought into the party through active participation of NC central member Rajan Panta.
Speaking on the occasion, Khanal said that he had always wanted to see Nepal in the list of developed nations and expressed his commitment to open economy, socialism and democracy.
He stressed on the need of stable politics to develop a nation and said that the most imperative task for the time being is to bring back the derailed politics back on track in Nepal.
Speaking on the occasion, Koirala said that the most imperative task was to hold Constituent Assembly elections on November 19 and reiterated NC’s commitment to it.
Speaking to Nepali reporter, Khanal hinted that the was looking forward to join CA elections as NC’s candidate from Palpa electoral sector number 3.
